Great picture indeed! I wonder if they have corrected the rudder paint to the new TAP design (reading Air Portugal). Looking forward to seeing this in full paint!

I learned this week that Airbus is looking to have the 251t A339 certified by mid-2019 (approx one year after EIS).

Turkish President will visit France today, and it is very likely that A350 will be ordered.
Maybe wishfull thinking of me, we might see also some A330neo orders :goodvibes:

I made a summary in the previous thread. At the end of 2017:

> F-WTTN completed some 40 sorties since first flight in October, totaling 113 flight hours
> F-WTTE completed some 10 sorties since first flight in December, totaling 38 flight hours

Good for a total of 150 flight hours, or roughly 14% of the entire campaign.

Both aircraft were flying today, so flight activities continue in 2018.

Just read an article in a Turkish Aviation Site about Turkish Airlines being interested for up to 15 A339 previously planned for Air Berlin.

Unfortunately no source is given, though might be only a rumor.
Anyone has more insight? First one should be out of assembly line? And deal might be through ALC Leasing.

Unless I’m mistaken, the winglet on that 339 looks like the old 332/333 winglet, not the 350 winglets that I thought were being adopted by the 338/339.

There are no WB deliveries left, unless the LOIs for B789 and A359 turn into firm orders.

You are mistaken

That angle of the photo make it look similar. But it is more like the A350 winglet seen from other angles

A330NEO test plane F-WTTE experienced some kind of undercarriage issue(apparently the right main gear did not extend) and made a low pass before landing safely back at TLS.

Not sure the extent current A330 operators will need crew training flights, considering the only real difference between the A333 and A339 are the engines and some improved instrumentation.

Is there any chance of a A330-1000? The fuselage looks stubby by now , It could probably happen in 10 years. There is of course A350 and they are not going to compete with themselves but in time there may be a differentiation.

EASA certification has the A330/350 pilot rating combined as a single rating so I doubt going from A330ceo to neo involves any major training issues. Maybe a short differences course. Actual pilots please chip in.

keesje has been advocating it for months, at least, but I do not expect it to happen as it would encroach on the A35-900 (especially the Regional model) on missions likely out to the eight-hour mark.

It runs the spectrum from "already privately cancelled" to "will be adding to their order". We'll know for sure they are taking them when this one is re-painted in HA colors or the next tranche of frames enter the FAL.

Airbus wanted to save costs and time to market - so the Neo is a straight re-engining project plus some fine tuning of the aerodynamics. The A330-900 would have been better if they had adopted the same fuselage as the A340-500. But I suspect that weight reduction will be even more critical.

As for a A330-1000, I highly doubt it - it would be easier to further develop the A350-900 into something with better economics than a potential A330-1000.

as I remember the A358 was going to perform better then the A333. I think in mid 2020s we will see a A358 with smaller wing replacing A339.

A question concerning that first 330neo for Tap.

Didn't they lately change their name from TAP Portugal to TAP Air Portugal again.

They even introduced a slightly revised livery:

it now says Air Portugal on the tail and not TAP Portugal, other than that only the registration is now placed on a different spot and the flytap.com titles are now coloured.

The tail was probably painted before Airbus/the supplier (not sure who paints the tail when it is painted before everything else) was notified of the change and given the updated painting plans.

It will properly be corrected when the rest of the plane is painted.
