I actually find them real cool! I was disappointed at first to see they were not as big as the A350s, but I think they'll look awesome in certain angles.

What is your definition of bigger? The winglets on the A330neo are quite long, but do not reach as high as on the A350.

I guess I should have said "taller" rather than bigger. But I do like how they "swoosh" back.

I'll be able to confirm when it enters FAL or rolls out on Monday or Tuesday.

Delivery should be around Feb 2019 but is flexible according to the database.

We are in a strange place in the order cycle. I expect we will see more orders for NEO but hard to say who will be next off the block.

Hopefully at the FAS. An Airbus executive mentioned in an article I read that they have some widebody orders in the bag that they cannot announce yet.

This thread is about A330 production and delivery. Specific airline or airport ops are unrelated to the topic. Please find the appropriate thread or create a new one to discuss things other than A330 production and delivery.

I think the Azul livery looks sharp, particularly the curve of the blue underbelly. I look forward
to seeing it with engines on.

Yeah, that will make a huge difference. To me the livery looks quite sharp as well. :)

That is a beautiful aircraft. I think that may be the best livery on any A330, makes it look so slick, even more so with the new winglet .

Seems to be a delay with the T7000 then? Was there talk that test frame engines could be compromised regarding longevity
with the blade coating, & that subsequent production engines would have to be revised? If this is the case, I wonder when these
engines will be delivered since I imagine AB are all set to supply.

Over the course of a 1h 30min flight from Toulouse to Lisbon, the A330-900 reportedly burned 8t out of the ~20t loaded, despite being a full power takeoff at 168t. Passengers reported the aircraft noise level as being incredible and Airbus is touting it to be better than any competitor.

A couple of possibilities

1) testing ground handling issues
2) Testing Service issues (e.g. LH Technic)
3) Visit Fraport and introducing the plane and the differences to the A330CEO
4) Visit LH HQ for order and delivery negotiations..
5) Visit Condor for order and delivery negotiations.
5) Regular presentation for several Airlines
6) Captured during the curview
7) endless other reasons

Will the AirAsia X confirmation of 100 frames allow Airbus to increase production rates, or are the deliveries spread over too many years to enable that?

Air Asia X’s original order was dispersed out across almost 10 years. The new order is probably flushing out the deliveries in the earlier half.

Do we know what the delivery schedule of the A330neo is for this year?

TP are getting 2 (I think?) as are MK, as far as I know.

Any idea what is going on with the A338 proto? Has it even flown yet (I don't think so) & I wonder if that frame will eventually go on to Uganda.

Zero flight for the A338. It has been seen last week inside a hangar of the A380 plant, supposedly for engine fitting.

Delivery of A330-800 for Uganda is scheduled for December 2020, so i doubt that the proto frame will go to them.

I read somewhere that the A338 prototype was waiting to get the engines coming from the TAP frame currently being used for test flights, as this will get new engines before delivery. If so, it could be another 1/2 months before engines are installed on the A338.

At the moment the engines are expecting ETOPS certification, and until now no issue as occurred, the delay regarding the first EIS is "normal" for this type of project. Until the end of the year I expect TAP alone to have around 4 to 6 delivered.

I don't think there are delays, the plan was always to take first delivery in October.

I'm pretty sure the plan was to have the first one delivered last March. In fact there were strong rumors that TP was going to launch SFO with it, this past Summer. Then it got pushed to June(?), and finally October.
