My understanding is that 4 will be delivered next year all coming with the Delta One Suite.

There should be 2 764s in the next few days going to ILN for storage. N830MH and N841MH. One of these may end up being the prototype for the D1 suites.

Thanks for the heads up 777MECH ..... Delta seems like the most aggressive of the US3 when it comes to rolling out products....using almost any opportunity to bring the fleet up to standard

I disagree that DL is the most aggressive here...UA has already modded 11 of 35 B763ERs with the Polaris product, with 2 more currently in mods, while DL hasn't even started the D1 suites mods. UA has also modded 6 of 51 B772s with 3 more in mods, while DL has modded 1, with 2 more in mods. However UA hasn't yet announced what will happen with their B764s!

United more aggressive? Remember that Polaris was announced back in 2016 and that's all they have complete...lol. When was the Delta One suite revealed? And you could certainly argue that Delta's current generation overall beats United's current offering across the board.

Let's also keep in mind that when it was introduced, it was only announced to be on the A350 and 777 - It was not announced as a new fleet wide offering.

Delta completed all direct isle access business class on their wide body fleet in 2014, UA still to this day doesn't have that offering on their wide body fleet. If you look at what's on the non-polaris 767-300s for instance, it's pretty frightening. I would offer that Delta isn't in need of such a drastic upgrade.

Heck, UA was still taking deliveries of brand new 788's up until a few years ago with a 2-2-2 dated configuration in business class. For all United has done to polish and improve their image, their hard product is lacking. DL is now on its 2nd generation of lie-flat, direct aisle access seating. United still hasn't even finished their first go around.

Interesting. I know that some DL 764s have had maintenance done at ILN in the past several months. Will these be worked on while there, or is it pure storage?

They will eventually get worked on, but these are PBTH savings and postponing the check until after the 1st of the year. Theu'll spend close to 150 days in ILN from what I hear.

Do the A350's have Live TV? Hoping to catch some college football on my flight DTW-AMS tomorrow afternoon?

The Live TV service depends on satellites that only cover the continental US, so it is not installed on international widebody aircraft.

That's inaccurate, IMHO. UA has been painfully slow to roll out a all isle access lie-flat product where DL has been there for a little while now. Only retrofitting 6 777s with Polaris after 2 years of roll out is pathetic.

UA does their mods with HAECO at HKG. There's only so many aircraft that can be modded at the same time, with both the B763ERs and B772s being sent there. Obviously the B763ERs have been prioritized as the B772s are fully utilized during the summer. I believe that the Polaris product introduction was also delayed in production, which has nothing to do with UA. DL has only modded 1 B772 since the first went to SIN last February, but I guess that's acceptable to you.

What's DL's excuse then? Didn't they do the same thing? DL got their 763ERs done very, very quickly and they only have a fraction of the 777s that UA has.

I'm assuming the 763ER reference was to direct aisle access for all F seats.

To clear the fog, what I meant is that DL currently has direct isle access on all widebody aircraft for a while and UA only has that for a fraction of the fleet. Stop spinning words.

A couple of tidbits about N863DA, which ferried from ATL>SFO earlier today, before a revenue flight back to ATL. I was able to go on board to see the mods for myself at SFO and I noticed that both the luggage bins and the PSUs were not changed during the mods. I don't know if there is something better in either case as replacements, but I guess DL is happy with the current arrangements! The rest of the cabins look fantastic, and I shall look forward to flying on one soon, as DL is my airline of choice, despite what others here might believe!

DTW-PVG is returning to DTW. I hear that someone on board passed away and YWG wasn't available as a diversion point.

My condolences to the pax's loved ones.

Why would the 777 ferry ATL-SFO and return as a revenue flight? Doesn’t DL usually use MCO or TPA for a post mod flight?

359 DTW-PVG N510DN on Monday 10/8 was actually the medical diversion linked above that returned to DTW due to onboard passenger death. It returned back around 11pm Monday night and then was rescheduled to depart at 8am Tuesday

Correction: According to my source at Airbus, this should be N513DZ, not N513DX. DL also has N513DA reserved, but is currently unassigned.

It wasn't DL. Virgin Atlantic has the NFL contract for all London games.

G-VBUG (A340-600). Flight number VS9965

And just to complete this, VS 9961, operated by A346 G-VWEB, flew the Oakland Raiders from OAK>LHR.

Does anybody know when the first 764 will go in for cabin mods and how quickly they plan to have the fleet done?

830MH may be the first one with the suites, (parked at ILN now) and they expect to have all of them completed by the end of 2020.

Last i heard they were due in Q1 & Q2 2020 respectively prior to the busy S20 schedule but there still a lot of time for that to be adjusted forward or backward depending on how DL sees things flow in their business.

Will these new A330-300's and A330-900's have the new D1 suites installed?

On another note just got DL 161 NN809NW A330-300 AMS-MSP had close to 3 hour delay due to a broken fuel valve. (I know again its anecdotal but the last 3 A330 flights i've been on have either had serious delays or been canceled).

Flew N509DN A350-900 DTW-AMS last saturday beautiful plane very very quiet and the seats were very comfortable. DL has a winner with the new D1 Suites.

Its unclear if the A330ceos will get them but the 33Ns will get the suites and PE.
