Is that so very different from what they've been flying since October in terms of scheduled flights, not including the occasional charter here and there? I'm just not sure what "re-entering scheduled service" means here.

Currently they are being used for one-off substitutions. They're not scheduled in advance for a specific flight. That's the change.

Hi all just a quick question. I am flying on the 23nd of March and returning on April 4th Narita to Manila back to Narita. I am trying to figure out which type of 763 I am supposed to be on. I know it has the mid Lavs. I am just not sure about blocked windows on this flight in the economy+ area of the plane? I think then flights are 180/181.

Also looking forward to flying on the A350 for the first time from DTW to NRT and Back. I think we got good seats for it. Just not found a review on the A350 economy section like in a trip report or a video report. All i have found is the Points guy and everyones elses report of PS and D1. Just wanted to see what other poeple have said about the trip in Y. Thanks

Here are a couple of A350 Y class trip reports I found. They should give you a good idea of what to expect on the flight. The new economy cabin sure looks awesome!

On a side note, I have a question about the upcoming 777 and 764 retrofits. Will they be getting the new Recaro economy class seats on the 359, or will they be sticking with the older B/E Aerospace Pinnacle (the A330/739/A321 economy product)?

Any speculation on what the primary base(s) and routes will be for Delta’s A330neo upon delivery in 2019?

FRA-DTW diverted to YFB due to a medical, ship 1601. Flight continued onto DTW after a 2 hour delay.

Look like at least through the end of May it's the 763 domestic.

MSP-MCO on 3/24 and 3/25 shows a 76W, then on 3/26 reverts to a 753. Even crazier is on 3/23, it shows 2 763s, an A330 and 2 753s.

MSP-RSW reverts to a 757 on 3/25.

Seems like Delta is using their A330-300 on the ATL-PHX route. Its usually is operated by a heck of A321s, with the exception of the 737-900ER and if I'm not mistaken the 767-400ER.

There is currently a Delta A330-300 (N816NW) flying from Orlando (MCO) to London (LGW). Perhaps this is a Virgin replacement flight?

The A330 MCO-LGW was a rescue flight for the VS MCO-LGW flight which cancelled so DL sent a A330 down to operate the flight.

I think it could be because of the Winter Storm they had, there were two major ones over the past week.

Anyone know why A350 506DN diverted to Minneapolis operating ICN-DTW? I know there was weather in DTW this am, but they swapped airplanes and used an A333 for the continuation. I am guessing that the crew of the A350 timed out and they were able to get A330 crew to MSP faster than A350 crew.

DTW was getting freezing rain on Sunday morning.
Diverted to MSP to clear immigration and likely rebook connecting passengers onward from MSP since DTW was a mess with the freezing rain Sunday morning.
No A350 reserve crews in MSP, they'd have to get them over there from DTW, but they have A330 reserve crews in MSP.

Seasonal service. Goes out full or close to full more than you would think. This flight was a 757 before the 333 and will downgrade to a 321 on April 3 with April 2nd scheduled on a 764. Regular 767 service has been gone for several years. This seasonal service combined with the increased BA 744 service and now AA 330 service to Hawaii and Charlotte means we actually get to enjoy wide-bodies.

Probably not until they get the whole fleet retrofitted. They wouldn't want passengers to specifically book the 777 and it not have the new seats.

The first one (7004) should be flying to SIN shortly. Flying ATL-NRT as flight 295 tomorrow and then on to SIN as 9973.

Does anyone know the tail number for the Delta 767 operating ATL-NKT-RIV tomorrow?

It was going to be DL8965 operated by N1402A, however it now shows as "Cancelled".

However N1402A did just operate the first part of the flight from ATL>NKT as DL8965!

That's a hell of an improvement. Wonder if there were fistfights to get a lie-flat upgrade :-)

By the end of this year, Delta will have either 11 or 12 Airbus A350s. Also by the end of this year the A350s will operate DTW-NRT, ICN, PEK, AMS, and PVG; ATL-ICN; and LAX-PVG. Once Delta receives more A350s, and ultimately to their fulfilled order of 25, what additional routes could we see? Increased frequency on currently existing/already announced routes? More routes to Europe? More routes to Asia? Launching flights to Africa?

Should be LAX-ICN already announced on the A350. Other routes I see going to the 350 are ATL-AMS, NRT.

My long shot prediction is MSP-ICN, but I'd assume it would start with a 777.

Also in the coming months you'll start seeing one off flights to various cities on the 350 as coverage for the 777s taking up to 60-90 days for heavy checks and the D1 mod.

That is going to be hard because it will require a bridge route. Not sure why they would move it over from the 242t 333s.

Post-mods, will the 777 routes stay the same, or will 777 ops shift to routes where a more premium and modern plane would be more fitting?

CDG seems like the second-most likely European A350 destination. LHR would be cool to see, most likely out of ATL, DTW, and or JFK, but that seems like more of an A330-900neo route.

My apologizes, I thought LAX-ICN was announced on the 350, but i guess not. I also don't see LAX-PVG on the 350 either, it shows a 77L at least until May.
