How have the A350's been reliability wise in the few months they've been in service?

Probably not much off the standard reliability on the type. Delta seems to care for maintenance, and most toothing problems are fixed by now. My guess is since all 350s are at 99.3, Delta is also just above 99%. With lower statistics, I don't expect it to be standing, might be varying around that lower and higher from month to month.

Cheers,
Adam

DTW-HKG and CDG would be 2 more.

CDG seems like the second-most likely European A350 destination. LHR would be cool to see, most likely out of ATL, DTW, and or JFK, but that seems like more of an A330-900neo route.
The 339 is perfect for LHR-JFK/ATL/DTW as well as SEA-Asia, those would be the perfect beginning stages.

Apparently 2 of 4 DTW-AMS flights this April will be A350s.

Is there a schedule for when each 777 will enter and exit mods? Which 777 will enter mods next? I know that N863DA just flew to SIN and will stay there until mods are complete.

Should be LAX-ICN already announced on the A350. Other routes I see going to the 350 are ATL-AMS, NRT.

My long shot prediction is MSP-ICN, but I'd assume it would start with a 777.

Also in the coming months you'll start seeing one off flights to various cities on the 350 as coverage for the 777s taking up to 60-90 days for heavy checks and the D1 mod.

wait did I miss something?

JFK-TLV has been rumored as well

That is going to be hard because it will require a bridge route. Not sure why they would move it over from the 242t 333s.

My apologizes, I thought LAX-ICN was announced on the 350, but i guess not. I also don't see LAX-PVG on the 350 either, it shows a 77L at least until May.

LAX-PVG won't be operated by the 350 until July, if I remember correctly.

I see 858NW is still sitting in Lagos. How bad is the damage? Does anyone know how long it will take to get the airplane back, and what the fixes are?

Is that so very different from what they've been flying since October in terms of scheduled flights, not including the occasional charter here and there? I'm just not sure what "re-entering scheduled service" means here.

So Delta didn't go through with the retirement of the 4 non ER Pratts. Why the change?

They retired 2 of them, and they needed the last 2 for the summer schedule. They'll be gone in September.

Were these planned for the summer schedule? If not, is there a reason why they are now needed?

DL widebody maintenance happens all over the world. CAN/SIN/QPG/PVG/MSP/ATL to name the most important one. with the size of the fleet and the maintenance requirements, they need to diversify. CAN specifically is a big 767s maintenance base so comes in handy for DL. Planes usually shuttle through the NRT base requiring a short ferry flight.

Is there a schedule for the cabin retrofit of Delta’s 18 777s? N863DA has been in Singapore for 2 weeks now, but FlightAware shows the 17 others still operating regular flights, with no flights to SIN listed for the next few days. Are they gonna retrofit all the 777-200ERs before the 777-200LRs, or will it be a mix of the two?

When will both N507DN and N508DN start passenger service? It would have to be in the next few weeks, as ATL-ICN and DTW-AMS start A350 service later this month.

Well as you said, with the two additional services starting later this month, N507DN will probably stay at ATL after induction, to begin ATL>ICN on March 24th, and DTW>AMS begins on March 31st. Knowing the exact dates when these two will enter service is obvious as two A350s will be needed to operate the ATL>ICN flights! Thus N508DN could enter service on March 25th if it also stays at ATL.

Quick rundown on the 767-300ER retirement so far:

*1st frame was N1501P (Previously A4O-GL for Gulf Air. Also not sure if this was a high or low J). 27 years at retirement with its first flight on 10/5/1990 and retired 12/1/2017 with its final flight from SEA-SBD. 2 GE CF6-80C2B4 engines powered this frame.

*2nd frame was N153DL (Previously A4O-GN for Gulf Air. This was a low J frame). 27 years at retirement with its first flight on 11/8/1990 and retired 3/9/18 with its final flight from ATL-SBD. 2 GE CF6-80C2B4 engines powered this frame.

If I'm not mistaken and I know someone said this either in another thread, but I believe the next retirements will take place in the summer. Also does anyone know how many Ex-Gulf Air frames that are in 763ER fleet?

And what flymco753 said, I am truly thankful for the creation of this thread as well all the contributions that hkcanadaexpat provided, as well as all the awesome people that contribute in this forum. This is a really awesome thread and we have some really awesome people in this forum. I do not know if you get this alot, but thank you.

6 ... ships 1501-1506 ... N1501P, N152DL, N153DL, N154DL, N155DL, N156DL

there is also ship 1521 - N394DL which is a 737-324ER originally ordered by Continental ... CO never took delivery ... it went to Asiana instead .... this aircraft has the same door configuration as the 6 ex-Gulf Air

Look for 1401, 1402 and 184 to be the next widebodies retired. 184 is a lease return if I'm not mistaken.

Why SBD? Do they have a more specific program for 767 retirements? Is Pinal/Marana only for 747s and 777s now?

Thanks. I was thinking that I remembered seeing those lower tail numbers back towards the end of the DFW hub days. I used to fly to Atlanta a fair amount back then.

Ships 1401, 1402 are the 767-300s I know. And it seems that Ship 184 will be the 2nd retirement this year for the 767-300ERs. There supposed to be 3 ER retirements this year unless they rescheduled it.

182 is the other one I believe, around the November/December timeframe.

Yep, they had multiple 762 and 763 destinations, most of the west coast a bunch to the east. They also had a Frankfurt 763ER flight for a while, and there would ususally be a 763ER round trip from Atlanta in the evening.

I am surprised we don’t have reports of the updated 777 interior in action. I believe the first one is in service, correct? I wonder which routes will get first priority for the updated interior.

The first one just went in for the update several weeks ago. Will be a few months before it's back out in revenue service.
