- N512DN (359 #12) entered cabin installation in TLS (Q1/19 delivery)

Will these new A330-300's and A330-900's have the new D1 suites installed?

On another note just got DL 161 NN809NW A330-300 AMS-MSP had close to 3 hour delay due to a broken fuel valve. (I know again its anecdotal but the last 3 A330 flights i've been on have either had serious delays or been canceled).

Flew N509DN A350-900 DTW-AMS last saturday beautiful plane very very quiet and the seats were very comfortable. DL has a winner with the new D1 Suites.

Its unclear if the A330ceos will get them but the 33Ns will get the suites and PE.

DL does not have any more 333s in order. 333 #2 was a typo. They meant 339 #2.

Ed Bastian said back in August in an interview that "All the wide-bodies will have them by 2021." I would even expect the A330ceos would get them before the B763ERs.

The B764s are definitely the next aircraft to be modded with the D1 Suites and the PS cabins starting this winter. I wonder whether the mods will be done at HAECO at HKG, which DL has previously used for the B763ERs mods a few years ago?

N863DA the first 777 with new interior and D1 suites is currently acting as a sub I believe it has not flown since 10/12/2018 DL73 AMS-ATL

Is the idea behind this that they do not want to schedule it on routes and disappoint customers who think they will get the new D1 suite and end up with the old seat. Rather as acting as a sub you will delight some pax who expect the old product and feel lucky enough to get the new product?

Any word on when the next 777 with the mods will return to service?

To answer your first question, yes I believe that is basically correct!

The first LR (7HD), N706DN, entered mods on Sept. 6th and the second ER (7HB), N864DA, entered mods on Sept.18th. Neither will be finished before next month, but which will be completed first is unknown at this time.

Actually 7005 will be done in a week or so. 7007 will take its place.

7106 has at least another month to go.

So @777MECH just to confirm...all 777's are to be completed prior to summer 19 schedule?

To answer a few questions:
1) N863DA will stop acting as a spare effective 11/1. With N864DA returning, both 7HD frames will be operating the MSP-HND route daily
2) By Summer 2019, all the 772s are expected to be completed but not all 77Ls. By my count, only 3 of the 10 77Ls will be completed by then with the rest completed during the W2019-20 schedule.
3) DL have removed the "old" 772 config from its timetable. The timetable now reflects 772 (representing 7HD equipment) and 77L (representing "old" 77L config). Flights operated by "old" 772 aircraft are listed as 77L in DL's timetable until the remaining have been converted.

So then for the summer schedule (as it currently stands), we can expect the reconfigured 772s to be on:
MSP-CDG
MSP-HND
MSP-ICN
ATL-CDG
ATL-NRT

...the reconfigured 77Ls to be on:
LAX-CDG
LAX-SYD

...and the non-reconfigured 77Ls to be on:
ATL-JNB
ATL-AMS
ATL-PVG
<possible/likely BOM route>

I would assume that VS did the engine swap, as they also have A330s, and of course they have a maintenance hangar at LHR.

Makes sense that Virgin did it as they're basically partners....why are they parking a A330 for an entire year seeing as they're basically maxed out on widebody aircrafts ?

Why for such a long time? Is the ship needing an HMV and they want to push it into the next fiscal year for financial purposes? It seems strange with the 333 having such excellent ASM costs in a moment of rising fuel costs that it wouldn't be cheaper to keep it flying. But I recognize that there is a complex set of factors here and that the A330 fleet has had temporary storage before.

Slight brainfart as it is PW powered. I'm thinking it has something to do along the lines of that engine failure of 3306 a while back, and they're having to do engine inspections. I assume they'll be pulling the engines off of it and using them on other frames until inspection is complete. Someone may know for sure if there's an AD out there for it. I'm not sure how to look it up.

Are there any more 76L->76Z conversions planned before S19 at this point?

highly unlikely.

The line mechanics Delta has at LHR probably did it with any extra man power coming from another station in Europe or even a crew from Atlanta. In general Delta doesn't outsource things like an engine swap unless its part of a check being done by a vendor. They will send a crew if needed.

I don't see any current ADs for the big 4000. Doesn't mean it isn't some kind of service bulletin or something along those lines.

FWIW those engines are dealt with by Pratt unless something has very recently changed. Could be just parking the airplane to defer engine overhauls till next year/waiting for a slot.
