I would like to add that Clear is pretty pointless at MCO. When I use it at LAX, they let you in at the front of the line. At MCO, you only skip the outside queue, but still have to wait through most of the line. I've done LAX-MCO-LAX on DL 4 times so far this year, and its night and day between the two. I actually lost an upgrade when I should have missed the flight, but there was an issue with the plane so they let me on and gave my upgrade to the next in line.
Pre Check is pretty pointless too, however I'm a loser and get to the airport hours early to hang out. :)

Have you seen the long lines at MCO? There's usually 4 pre-check podiums for TSA then 2 scanners. I'm through in 3min.

What time do you generally fly out? The 6PM bank for Delta is by far the 2nd worst next to the 8am bank.

Just received this press release in my inbox.

https://orlandoairports.net/press/2018/ ... al-travel/

At today’s April meeting, the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) Board voted to position Orlando International Airport (MCO) as the first U.S. airport to fully deploy the U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) Biometric Entry and Exit Program. The Board approved $4 million in funding to integrate the passenger processing system that will use facial recognition technology to facilitate the arrival and departure of all international travelers

When they close the FIS at 1, if F9 or NK were to add international flights, would this mean that they would have to park at 4 and be towed to 1? Or would they arrive and depart out of 4?

Starting august, Avianca is adding service to Lima, San Salvador and Guatemala City, service to LIM will be daily in airbus A319, SAL will operate 4 times per week and GUA 3 times per week both in A320.
Itineraries are open for sale.

Excellent adds by AV! That takes their flights to 3 a day now.

Also I noticed that AM is adding service to MTY.

MTY was needed. Magnicharters has been doing it for a while, however I don't see them here anymore.

Source? Orlando doesnt need interior mexico routes because there is no market. I dont know what your thinking about orlando getting all of this service. You cant support another tatl to cdg it will kill your ams flights.

This means nothing. Orlando is a failure market for interior mexico and Paris on Delta. Warp that around your minds!

No need to be hostile.

You asked for the source and it was provided.

Are interior Mexico flights being a failure your opinion or fact? If it is a fact then provide the info to support it. As for Paris on Delta, the flight doesn't currently operate but it is a possible future Delta route. Air France once flew the route but didn't have a lot of success flying a 777 on the route.

Those are the "outlets flights" or "shopping flights". There are a few, from Brazil especially that come to Orlando to shop and leave next day back home where they sell the goods. If course, that is in addition to VFR traffic.

Volaris has flown to Guadalajara for some time from Orlando. I'm assuming you are excluding MEX from interior Mexico, as there is evidence that a substantial market exists for MEX-MCO, as indicated by the upwards of 4x daily flights.

Frontier adds MCO-ORF twice weekly on the A320 beginning on August 12th. Doesn't this seem like a weak time to start FL routes? It gets pretty dead around here from August until the end of October, which even then it's still kind of...dead.

https://orlandoairports.net/press/2018/ ... l-airport/

ORLANDO, FL. – Thanks in part to 309,000 additional seats coming into Orlando International Airport in March, the first quarter of 2018 is another one for the record books. Domestic passenger traffic is up almost 7 percent while international traffic has climbed approximately 13.5 percent over the same time last year, bringing the total number of travelers on a 12-month rolling total to nearly 45.5 million.

With traffic up and growing across the board, the timing is perfect for completion of the current North Terminal Complex renovations project. Designed to enhance space, comfort and ease of travel for passengers at Orlando International Airport, the project is scheduled for substantial completion by mid-late summer.

New service for March 2018 included Delta to Amsterdam, Netherlands 7 days a week; JetBlue to Atlanta 7 days a week; Spirit to Richmond 7 days a week; and Virgin Atlantic to Belfast, Northern Ireland 2 days a week. Along with more seats coming into the market, the planes were full with load factors also up to 88 percent.

If all other airports ahead and behind MCO saw no growth(I know, not likely in the least bit), this would put MCO just behind LGW and CLT as 34th busiest in the world.

I honestly can't pinpoint a time. I just usually see fairly long regular TSA lines with minimal pre-check lines. I've flown out of MCO several dozen times but airside 1 - not Southwest or Delta's side.

DL is ending MCO-MIA. 3M is delaying HSV (for aircraft certification reasons) and ended Freeport.

What's next? DL really had an interesting thing going on with MIA.

I'd like to see DL make airports like GRR year round and daily on RJ's, ones with less competition but enough passengers to support it.

They have, but MIA has for a longer time and is probably fighting harder to get one than MCO. I'd love to see MCO get a flight to Tokyo, but if I had to put my finger on it ANA would do MCO and JAL would do MIA.

GOL added the codeshare onto the new FOR and BSB flights. I can book NYC-MCO-FOR or BSB-MCO-SLC. Not that these markets exist but the codeshare is applied. I'm oober excited to see how it goes.

Not happening until they move into new terminal. I don’t think f9 service is going to prevent them from getting into any market.

Especially off daily. Markets like PIT and DTW that don't have daily F9 service won't stop B6 from adding these from MCO.

Not sure on how to upload, but I look forward to seeing the MAX in a few days when I get home.

One market that's standing out right now in terms of growth for MCO is BWI. Annual pax data shows nearly 20,000 in growth. (Includes connections and O&D)

I think that this announcement will likely be on an airline other than WN since WN's next schedule extension is on June 28th, which is two weeks from this Thursday.
