The only two I can think of are JAX (but it's probably not the time of year to add JAX)
Or INTL. This is the extension CUN was added last year.

Neither I feel strongly about.

I'll be curious is SNA comes back around the holidays like last year.

Probably just for training, ferrying, or a charter. They pretty commonly make stops at midwestern airports on these types of flights to/from MSP.

Plane went up to DCA, back to STL and then up to MSP

That I don't know. I just noticed it daily again on the schedule. I could see it staying daily through March or April. It was daily for March this year.

Took this from the urbanstl site. I don't think the poster is on here, if you are feel free to take credit for this as I found it interesting.

Also this is in no way me saying STL should have a nonstop to asia.

------
https://viewfromthewing.boardingarea.co ... routes-ba/

One of their biggest markets on the Beijing flight is St. Louis to Beijing and there are $250 walkup fares in the market, compared to St. Louis to London at “$1600 or $1700” and Honolulu “were we to fly it, soon we will, $500.”

Couple of thoughts: surprised to hear STL - PEK is a popular route, must be a biz connection?

Ill go though the entire schedule in a bit but it looks like PIT is 2x daily on the Fri/Sat/Sun in November. and 2x on Sunday in December (Although the December schedule is so different week to week I usually don't even do a frequency spreadsheet for it. )

I would have guessed 20 others more than STL-PEK. It would be interesting to see the O&D from STL to various Int'l destinations. Is there a place where one can find that data?

I take this back somewhat. The weekends in November all are different also because of the holiday. This is going to make my frequency thing off a bit. very week to week.

Numbers for November on WN (Nov 9-15 so they don't get changed for Thanksgiving). I'll look those numbers up later.

113 M-F
Up 1 weekday flight in each of following over last November:
CUN
MCI
DCA
BDL
SJC
SMF
PHL

77 Saturday (Up 1)
114 Sunday (up 8)

756 total for week

Finally got around to updating Feb Load Factors.

Top LF% thru Feb

WN PDX 91.2%
WN MCO 90.5%
WN FLL 88.3%
G4 PGD 88%
WN RSW 88%

Still don't totally get why AS is cutting PDX, started SAN instead and are getting killed on it (although it is only 2 1/2 months in). I doubt WN would go 2x daily on PDX but if it is getting 90% already in winter then summer is going to be packed. Maybe a seasonally 2x in summer 2019? Or maybe AS starts it back up next year? I'll be curious to see how the numbers do thru the rest of the year.

I'm pretty sure many moons ago it was at least 6, if not 7 daily, perhaps even more, going back to the TWA/AA hub days.

I would guess you are probably right on that. I'm a little too young to remember details from those days. I remember seeing Paris on the board at the end of C and being on a couple two flights but that is about it.

*maybe not too young but it was before I cared or flew very often.

I haven't looked at the parking lot numbers lately but I am pretty sure I haven't even seen them with this little of availability before.
I know T2 ,D, E are full a fair amount but I never remember seeing the others in the teens. I thought usually C had a fair amount of parking available. Not to say we need more parking (except at T2) but I found it interesting.

Full - T2, B, D, E
16% available - T1
13% available - A
18% available - C

Haha. I'm just not sure how many tickets they actually sell like that. Southwest does it a lot but I've rarely seen it on the legacies. Most have different flight numbers so they make you get off I think. I've heard about the Vegas one, but I don't think it is running like that now.

I work near the airport, we are right under the approach for 30L/R. I was in a conference room when I heard something louder than usual approaching, and soon this DC-10 appeared: https://flightaware.com/live/flight/OME ... /KSAT/KSTL

Any idea what it's for? It said Omega Tankers, but I don't think it was a tanker as it had windows.

I was curious on how many people went through STL a day compared to other airports, so I messaged them and asked. They responded with “Approximately 40,000 people go through STL a day”. Which is much more than I would have thought, BNA tweeted that they have about 20K on a normal day. I did not think that we had that big of a difference compared to BNA.

Just doing the math BNA told you you just boarding and STL told you boarding and De-planers. 40k a day comes out to 14.6 mil. Which is about what it was last year.

Random thing I found. WN is currently running a 10:55 to PHX. This has to be the latest scheduled flight they have had out of STL. I can't remember anything later than that.

On top of that they are running it out of E31. I am a little surprised they are running it right next to the WOW flight (which also is scheduled at 10:55) when they have so many gates to choose from.

The WOW flight yesterday ended up diverting to BLV because of the severe thunderstorms we had. Then headed back over to STL about 2 hours later.

Man, that must've sucked for everyone on board. Especially for any arriving pax who live around there. So close and yet so far from home. Assuming there's no CBP at BLV so people couldn't deplane (if WOW would even allow it).

Would be interesting if Ontario Teacher's Pension fund acquires it. They are running hot with the airports they have and are really good at managing assets.

This would become the largest privately owned airport in the US. Only major one I believe now is BKG?

A couple of questions for the STL crowd:

- Does anyone know who does air service development for STL?
- This has probably been discussed before, but could WN make STL into a larger connecting "focus city" than it is now? With MDW at 99% utilization, it seems like a decent move to funnel more connecting through STL, less through MDW. Or is this the case right now? Just don't know the STL market as much, I know ORD/MDW inside and out.

Also extremely excited to transit STL on my way to RDU- will be my first time ever in the airport, unless I did BOS-STL-EVV back in the TW days that I don't remember.

WN is actually operating fewer flights at MDW in Summer 2018 than in Summer 2017, and WN is only currently operating 260 departures a day at MDW compared to 265 departures a day at MDW in Summer 2017. WN still does have room to add a few more flights out of MDW since WN is currently operating fewer flights a day out of MDW than it did last year. WN currently operates out of 32 gates at MDW, and WN might even have enough room to operate as many as 320 departures a day out of MDW. WN also already operates more departures per day per gate at AUS, BUR, DAL, MCI, LAX, and SJC than it does at MDW. Is there anything unusual at MDW that prevents WN from doing 320 departures a day out of 32 gates?

WN currently operates out of 16 gates at STL, but WN currently only does 114 departures per day at STL. WN does have enough room at STL to do at least 160 departures a day out of the 16 gates currently in use by WN, but WN does have room to do more than 160 departures a day out of STL since additional gates can be reopened at STL if needed for further WN expansion.

Airport Privatization taking another step. Exploration consultants hired.

Mead and Hunt does development. They have been since 2012 and just got renewed for 3 more years.

They have been adding to the amount of connecting traffic over the last few years. Moving DSM from MDW to STL as an example. They have plenty of more space to grow if they want to. Probably 10 gates or so they could add if they wanted to that are next to their current gates. One is ready to go they just need a jetway (although it is pretty tight int that seating area currently) . They have discussed adding baggage claims.

They are doing 116 flights m-f and 120 on Sunday currently.

I personally am pretty against privatization. I see it as a way for the city to take more money out of the airport to use on other things non airport related. But I am open to it if they can prove it is a good thing.

It's been a while since I've been in E or T2, but could the biggest problem for *major* SW growth be baggage and ticketing check/in areas, followed in a distant third by security lanes? What say you local STL peeps?

They have plenty of security lanes. They just added another one. 7 now I think.

Ticketing counters aren't all used. There is some space available. They have a bunch of self check kiosks so there isn't much of a line when I go anymore. Although I don't go in the mornings, which is probably the worst.

Baggage is an issue. I would guess that is why they are talking about expanding it.

The biggest issue to me is ingress and egress of trying to do pick ups and drop offs. It is a cluster. They are going to start having to have cops directing traffic anytime a bank comes in. They also need them to start doing a better job getting people to stop parking and waiting. I got stuck trying to get to T1 because I couldn't get thru the stoplights to T2 the other day. They were blocked. I've seen a lot of people tweeting complaining lately. One person said they waited 40 minutes for a shuttle because it couldn't get in. They need to rework the entire area. Not near enough room for pickups. It's 5/6 shuttle pick up 1/6 cars. That's a problem.

They really need to build a central rental car area either on or offsite but with only one bus. Not a bunch of individual shuttles.

Can someone possibly explain better to me what this is all about? And what it means if anything for the airport.

Reimbursable Service Agreements are a terrific tool for helping CBP to provide a best-in-class international arrivals experience to an ever-increasing number of visitors while maintaining the highest standards of national security," said CBP Commissioner R. Gil Kerlikowske. "Today’s agreement with Massport will enable CBP to provide additional processing, immigration, and inspection services for international air travelers arriving at Boston Logan International Airport to keep people moving."
