The next Thai AirAsia A320N was delivered yesterday from TSN:

The next Frontier Airlines A320N was delivered yesterday from XFW:

So how is A319neo flight testing progressing? Almost a year since its first flight now, also who is expected to take the first aircraft? FR?

I don't think a launch customer of the A319neo has been announced yet.

I wonder if it will have the interim (original) blue tail, or an updated blue one? I'm not even sure if a final blue colour-scheme has been decided/revealed yet.

This is the old new livery. The updated with new blue not due until September at the moment. All aircraft before have the "black tail" not the updated blue.

I agree! The speed of the project delivery time is not working out well here but I guess there is also loads of pressure from clients; I am a governmentalprojectmanager in transportation/public projects, and to the disgrace of many partners I always take loooong time for the pre-up of a project. Till now, it always pays off. But I must admit, this goes a bit easier in the public sector.

I thought engine covers covered the very front as the straps are connected on the outside? I would imagine it is pretty hard to strap the cover on the inside if their is an engine inside!

Sorry for the confusion. "Covers" was probably not the right word. They appear to be more like plugs. When I was a kid I remember watching NW employees insert engine plugs on RON DC-9s at the airport I would plane spot at. Thats what this photo appears to show. Though, I am not expert either. Maybe someone will come along with more knowledge.

Does anybody know what the MSN will be of the A320neo for Air Malta? I believe it could be one of the "stored" airframes of Avianca, but nobody seems to be 100% sure.

I received some more civil, helpful responses but I suppose yours will do too. I, of course, have seen what new aircraft look like before engine installation, however I had never seen those red things inside them. I was simply wondering their purpose.

the A321LR is a very capable airplane. It will be hard to compete against. It will be interesting to see what routes the A321LR will open up.

The 757 was struggling westbound across the Atlantic and it has the same 4000NM range as the A321LR.
It will be interesting how robust A321LR TATL routes will be. BOS-MAN will be ok. but where's the reliable limit,
with 180 passengers, headwinds & reserves.

That's very impressive! Seychelles to Toulouse is just over 4100 nm great-circle distance. With a flight time of 11 hours they must have had some headwinds on parts of the flight, or not the best routing. The A321LR is a game changer, if only Airbus was able to meet demand.

Please note, "11 hour/4750NAM flight", that must be North-American Miles (NAM), which is approximately 4100 nautical miles, the distance between Seychelles and Toulouse.

The A320neo LR has a lower cruise speed. This was evident on JFK trip and now from SEZ. I think someone said the aerodynamics are designed primarily for short to medium hauls plus additional weight from the three extra fuel tanks.

Taking MAN as your example (also one I'm familiar with) the A321LR should work well for some of the thinner East Coast side TATL routes.

For example ones that are marginal (e.g. IAD, YUL), seasonal (e.g. BOS, YYZ) or struggling (e.g. ORD). Whether that would work for the legacy type carriers like UA/AC or newcomers like Primera or perhaps a TCX or TS I'm not sure.
