CFM acknowledges it's running 4 to 5 weeks behind regarding engine deliveries:

https://www.reuters.com/article/cfm-eng ... SL8N1PK5GE

CFM International is 4-5 weeks behind schedule in producing its new LEAP jet engine for Airbus and Boeing medium-haul jets, but remains confident about plans for a sharp ramp-up in production this year.

...

There have been some technical problems on LEAP engines delivered to airlines operating the Airbus A320neo, they said.

Not a surprise of course, several people familiar with the industry have been saying this for months.

Just returned home from a presentation by Dr. Sandra Bour-Schaeffer (Airbus Flight Test Engineer).
http://www.luftfahrt-der-zukunft.de/fil ... -01-29.pdf

A few interesting points:
– MSN 6101 was in LJG for high altitude testing of a new combustion chamber
– MSN 7877 (first Cabin Flex) first flight will happen in the next days
– Total flight hours stands at 4900 hours
– certification for both A319neo's will happen. The one in flight testing will finish in february, after that, the engine type will be changed.

– There was a Master Warning after takeoff during the maiden A320neo flight (can't remember reading that). It was shortly discussed aborting the flight.

Very interesting points.

Can you/anyone else elaborate a little more about the "Master Warning" - I never heard about this situation before!

Will MSN 7877 also be used for the "LR" testing with aditional fuel capasity - or is there any structural changes in frame or landinggear?

It was a presentation for the general public.
She didn't mention details, she only said they had a “red alert“ and that the people in the telemetry room were more worried than she and her colleagues in the air. And it was decided to continue the flight after some discussion.
Can't say anything about the LR, she didn't mention it.

Remembered a few more points that might be of interest:

– Tests for the A321 were already done on the A320, but with A321 rated engines (same for A319)
– Keflavik does't allow crosswind test any more after an accident (I think she meant the Superjet mishap )
– There are only two tests where an engine is really shut down:
–– Minimum Control Speed on Ground
–– wrong engine shut down test (engine has to restart after being shutdown for 5 seconds)
– Minimum Control Speed on Ground test was done for the first time without taking off, but stopping on the runway
– for the VMU test with one engine inoperative both engines were running, but their combined thrust was equal to one engine

There have been crosswind tests in KEF after that accident, but it can of course be decision done sometime later.

KEF has been rebuilding runways and therefore not all runways were in use all the time last year. That could also be a reason for less crosswind testing in KEF

It’s possible, but more likely the NEO for TAP is actually leased (BOC I believe) and it was suppose to go to another airline that didn’t take it. So the slot opened up for TAP and since that might have not be known when they assembled the aircraft so they painted it in all white.

TAP is not going to have a new livery, though it could be a special livery since they have made 2 of these recently.
But I agree it's most likely due to the aircraft being leased only recently, since AFAIK TAP did not have A320neos slots for delivery this year (only A321neos).

There are no stickers, it's is a plain white livery that will receive side decals similar to 925 (Most West Coast). Eventually, both 924 and 925 will be painted into the standard Alaska livery. The tail is blank.
