Yes, there is one in the Airbus orderbook. Don’t know who ordered it or when it will be built.

Geoff

I heard rumors it’s going to Deer Jet (Hong Kong), but I can not confirm 100%.

Interesting on the decision using past A345 registrations that they are replacing. Wonder why they are starting with -SGE when the A345s were 9V-SGA to 9V-SGE. You'd think they would use -SGA or carry on and use -SGF?

Their first two B78Xs are registered 9V-SCA/9V-SCB, which were previously used for two SQ Cargo B744Fs, long since withdrawn from service, and which were bought by DL as spares, being registered as N313SQ/N314SQ respectively!

It won’t be the first ULR delivered as it will need the test instrumentation removed.

I totally understand that registrations get re used. I just thought it was interesting they chose the A345 registrations.

My main point was what the logic was to start at -E?

It's as if the A345 lives on in spirit through the form of an A350 ULR. Cool!

I would advise you not to be too bothered by the 9V-SGE registration now, let's wait after two weeks to see the actual registration. Some airlines do jump their registration sequence due to many reasons: paperwork, prototype re-configuration etc. When the A345 was delivered to Singapore Airlines the delivery date sequence was as follow:
MSN 478 9V-SGC 19. Dec 2003
MSN 492 9V-SGA 31. Dec 2003
MSN 499 9V-SGB 12. Jan 2004
MSN 560 9V-SGD 08. Apr 2004
MSN 563 9V-SGE 08. May 2004

As noted by GE90man, it is very cool to see A359ULR to take on their predecessor A345's registration.

Next the B77X may take on 9V-SV* or 9V-SR* registration.Maybe even 9V-ST*!

Yes, expect it to be on the official livery.
I am surprised to see the ULR titels applied before aircraft is painted white though. Wouldn't it be easier to do it in opposite order?

G'day

Maybe it's just a reminder for the paint shop! LOL!

Well, in the good olde days those would have been letters cast in bronze that would have been removed before painting and reattached thereafter. The habit was scrapped likely due to less than ideal aerodynamics and maybe weight issues, but gone too are the days of airlines making bold statements. I miss those days where the pace was a bit slower maybe but people had the time to enjoy that very pace. Not trying to be sentimental, just remembering...

Rant off.

Cheers

Peter

He is probably just having a break. We have not heard from him either however last time he had a break, which I think was last year he was away from the site for about 6 weeks. I would also like to point out the moderators do work very hard on this site, while some of us are active users we also do a lot of unseen work behind the scenes so to be fair he is entitled to a break just like everyone else. I also ask if you wish to discuss this any further it would be better if it is discussed in the Site Related thread, lets keep this on the A350 Production

Slightly off topic: Do I remember reading early on that the dimming windows on the 787 were going to be available as an option on the A350? Did AB finally choose not to offer it or if it did, did any airline pick the option? I just had my first A350 flight y'day (DL) and was curious.

I never heard about dimming 787 style, but there is an option to have electric shades in white/grey and black in between the glass to sort of dim the light in 2 steps. Some airlines ordered this for the front of the cabin business seat section.

Ah, thank you. I thought I remembered something. Nice aircraft, quiet except on start up when the Rollers get quite loud. Our pilot must have been ex Navy because he missed the third wire and slammed it into the pavement at AMS like he was landing on the USS Enterprise (back before she was retired)..

Perhaps it was testing fuel dumping. I remember during the original test flying when that was tested that ATC asked for them to squawk 7700.

many people massively criticized the new LH livery, but looking at this gorgeous picture of "LH#9" and comparing it for instance with the latest picture of Air China, I personally believe LH did a great job! It's modern, fresh and perfectly fits the 350.
