The delivery teams get a break after the December rush. Output across all lines (A320/A330/A350/A380) is always low in January.

Instead of rushing in December followed with lazy times in January, why not managing better the workload during these two months?

Also thanks for the answers. I'm actually doing a bit of research myself of the A346 retirements, so I want to look closely on the next frame that will enter service so the other one will get pulled from service.

Its actually 4 deliveries. MSN 181 (TG#9) has been delivered and should fly out today.

Yes that may happen. Airbus will deliver the frame when the title is handed over after the final monies have been received. That the frame may not actually fly out for some days after that.

I'm not sure whether to laugh, to feel a little disturbed, or to be slightly relieved that (for lack of a better term) my family jewels survived both legs on the A350 I made about two weeks ago on DTW-NRT-DTW.

Interesting that the unofficial spreadsheet now shows that the delivery will be on Feb 27th, one day before the scheduled delivery of N508DN! Possibly a typo as it would seem odd to have back-to-back, instead of simultaneous, deliveries to ATL, but at least they would be a day apart.

That must be a mistake, empty weight should be around 155t and certainly not 129t.

Article also states that A350-1000 takeoff performance is better than expected:

In recent testing the aircraft also showed better-than-expected airfield performance, with the ability to take off at more than 5.3 tonnes higher weights in hot weather conditions, 7.2 tonnes greater weights than forecast out of obstacle limited runways and 3.8 tonnes better out of high altitude airfields.

Quite interesting as Airbus stopped publishing the manufacturer empty weight years ago. At least the ACAP docs shows the OEW at 155t.

Even without the discussion about the weight it is a very good article and shows that the A350-1000 is quite better than expected in several departments. That for sure will boost future sales.

How many A350-1000's are in production at this time? Only the QR frames?

The 99.3% dispatch reliability of the -900 after just 3 years of service will also push many fence sitters towards the aircraft. For reference, this is a figure that the 787 has now reached after 6 years.
