New tcds for a350- confirms 316t mtow for -1000 available. This will add another hour to the aircraft's endurance.

I notice it is still not All Weather capable and is currently at ETOPS 120

Saw that too but something does not add up- it operated into LHR during the recent storm.

I'm looking at TCDS EASA.A.151 Issue 12 dated 29 May 2018 and it states the A350 is Cat III with autoland and therefore should be All-Weather. It also shows that Beyond 180 min. Approval was granted on 14 October 2014.

The document linked had the -900 as Cat 3 and the -1000 as not all weather capable.

So what weather minima do QR use with their -1000? Assume CAT1. Seems restricting especially as that frame has accumulated around 13 hours a day since EIS albeit just to and from LHR( must have had several days with pretty bad weather). Is it a lack of operational hours or the CAT3c is unproven? Interesting QR aside from odd trip to Kuwait have not deployed it elsewhere possibly due lack of ETOPS although many points on their network do not require that capability but probably wise to have CAT3c!

I would assume the avionics on the A350-1000 would be similar, if not identical, to those on the A350-900. And the three test frames did perform navigation and autoland tests during the certification program.

I looked at the FAA TCDS, but they don't note ILS capabilities (it may be in a separate document).

I'm betting it's more than likely SQ who's interesting... seeing as they fly there via MEL, and from what I understand, do fairly good business.

Wouldn't be surprised if they're studying the feasibility of a nonstop.

There's been comment on the NZ thread that SQ are known to be thinking of switching their current trans-Tasman service from 77E to 359. But reading between the lines, the language in the airport statement sounds as if there's much more at stake than ability to do the short hop from Canberra/Melbourne. Zeke upthread argued that, according to the Airbus performance database, the 359 ought to be able to do Beijing from the current runway with full pax...

Yet the Astra report said the 359 couldn't operate into Wellington at all on a wet runway. Seems strange. We still lack any technical insights into why there might be a landing/take-off issue specific to the 359 in Wellington or other short runways (ie why would its short-field performance be so much worse than a 77E or 789 or A330)? Wing loading too low? Spoiler performance? Rudder authority issue? Braking system issues? Any clues?

I am sure the mods will appreciate any further discussion to be done in that thread but hopefully we will get an answer to a question posed on the forums about the A350 runway performance.

I am guessing no, since I do not believe they ever needed it on the A340-500 flights.

The rough number given for the A350-900, 2000m landing at MLW and 2600m take off at MTOW.

That should be better than any 777, but the 777-200 (not ER or LR), same as the 787-8 and better than the 787-9/10, better than the A330ceo in take off but worse in landing.

I've booked the SQ flight on the ULR but does anyone know about the seating right at the back. The map shows the seat is one seat away from the window like an aisle seat. These are single seats. I'm just hoping there's a window. It seems everyone has only booked these seats and nothing else except for at the front where the baby basinet bit is. So guessing these are the good seats having noone next to eachother

The May 2018 Airbus report included the following:

I would think the Undisclosed will become disclosed at Farnborough in July. There is also the (25) from Turkish and the (10) from Sichuan pending confirmation.

Can't find the picture but according to my friend who was ex-SQ cabin crew, it is located in a locker next to one of the plane’s exit doors which is long enough to store an average-sized body, with special straps. This is to prevent any movement during landing.

The non-stop A345 flight was very gruelling. Only selected crew get to assign to such flight. Most crew were dead tired by the end of flight but still need to maintain poise and smile. In one incident, one of his colleagues, a Leading Crew (in green kebaya) loose it, and let out loudly "Thank God" when the Captain went on intercom to ask crew prepare for landing at SIN. Some J pax looked at her bemused, and laughed out loud too. She is still flying with SQ today. Haha.. OK, off topic.

The 15 Undisclosed is highly likely to be the order from HNA for Hainan. That was 15x A350-900.

That was then.

Nowadays, you have QR, EK, QF, DL, CX, UA, CZ, EY, SV, CI, BR, AI and soon PR and NZ... all operating flights in excess of 16hrs. Some of them by an hour or more.

Sure SQ21 will exceed them by about an hour, but it's nothing particularly unique in terms of crew logistics, anymore.

Yes, this is soemhow a surprise. Airbus has previously mentioned it is only avaialbe from 2020 onwards. I guess Iberia has requested for it to be brought forward so that they can use it for JFK and South America routes. https://airlinerwatch.com/iberias-first ... aint-shop/

Airbus has been playing around A350 capability quite a lot in past two years, including lightweight version 210t to now 316t. This display really display A350's versatility in meeting different customers' demand.
