Looking forward to see the first Tanjin Airlines A350!! Still mentioned as JJ#9 on the production/delivery site: https://sites.google.com/site/a350xwbpr ... ction-list

With upcoming deliveries, should we expect a total of 40 A350’s delivered for the half year and hopefully more than 80 A350’s for the full year? Can someone please remind me the Airbus 2018 A350 delivery target?

Where are they going to write China Airlines, between door 1 and 2?. On the 747 it was in much smaller letters and on the rear just in front of the tail than on the regular planes, on the 777 it wasnt an issue as the Boeing was below the windows and between door 1 and 2.

What a strange coincidence that CA's production order #s 1-4 have now mysteriously disappeared from the spreadsheet! Yet CA's production order #s 5-10 are still listed. It doesn't surprise me however!

MSN 221 (PR#1) was contractually delivered on 28/6. So we ended June with 40 deliveries for 2018 (vs. 30 @ 30 June 2017).

Other changes to the order book @ 30/6:
> Air France orders continue to be moved around (3 AF + 25 AFKLM --> 21 AF + 7 KLM)
> Turkish Airlines order for 25 A359s makes it onto the books
> New order for 10 A359s Undisclosed

We're moving ever much closer to China's first A350 delivery... MSN 167 (CA#1) has been spotted at the delivery centre awaiting the Air China team to take thru its strives. I've heard snippets of a delivery around 7/19.

Other movements this week:
MSN 110 (QR#30) rolled out of the paint hangar
MSN 248 (MU#1) currently undergoing re-work at the A380 site
MSN 251 (HX#7) and MSN 252 (CX#29) both rolled out of FAL

Seems to be a bit of a shortage of frames rolling out that can be delivered quickly at present. This might be convenient for Airbus as it coincides with the main holiday season in TLS. Hopefully by late August they will be delivering the ULRs for SQ and a load of frames for CA and the other mainland China carriers.

5 frames are at the delivery center. 4 of them contenders to be delivered in the next Days. MSN126 QR, MSN188 CX, MSN213 MH and MSN221 PR. The fifth is a frame for Air China, waiting for the certification. 3 more frames are in flight testing, excluding the frames for China and test frames, and 5 frames are waiting for the first flight, again excluding test frames and birds destined for China. I assume July will see 6 deliveries.
When the China certification comes, we will see 9 to 10 extra frames delivered in a short time span.

Engine replacement seems quite common. Are initial flights often on Airbus engines and then swapped to customer engines later?

Sounds quite possible. When checking flight test performance, the Airbus owned engines will have a known performance? Gives RR the opportunity to deliver the very latest spec on the new engines? Saves Airbus paying for the new engines until last possible moment? Customer get latest spec, lowest possible hours run, if any problems later only one firm to negotiate with?

Not common.

How many times, and with which airlines this year?

Only logic for using Airbus-owned engines (which are usually engine OEM-owned engines), would be if there are supply problems, or finance problems with the customer (attaching customer engines is a milestone, and triggers a part payment), or aircraft delivery is to be delayed (and will be stored engine-less), or the engine OEM wants to perform tests (customer approval required, and CA wouldn't be the easiest to obtain).

Delivery delay would seem to be the most likely.

Looking at this excellent source

http://www.a350-production.com/production-list

After MSN 221, recently delivered, their are few frames due out of assembly that can go straight to the flightline and on to delivery. I see

227 for IB
228 for PR
236 for PR
239 for CI
243 for PR
255 for LH

Airbus will be able to sustain deliveries using their inventory of earlier built frames for QR and CX and also hopefully start delivering the mainland China frames and the ULRs.

Interesting link from the a321xlr thread...

On Airbus’ other widebody, the A350-1000, Faury declined to confirm that the company is working on another increase of its maximum take-off weight beyond the recently disclosed move from 308 to 316 tons, which airline executives are hinting at.

A further mtow hike would appear to be on the cards for the -1000

Does it need more MTOW? Maybe in anticipation of a stretch?
