In Boeing's latest O&D, (5) net orders for GE-powered 789s from Unidentified Customers were cancelled. Based on our knowledge of the Unidentified book, this seems quite odd...

789(GE) Unidentified = 56 order
- (5) deliveries (Saudia)
= 51 outstanding

The outstanding were:
(17) Hainan Airlines -> deliveries in progress
(15) China Eastern -> in production
(7) China Southern -> deliveries in progress
(5) Juneyao Airlines -> in production
(5) Donghai Airlines
(4) Unknown
(3) Bank of Communications Leasing -> in production

So net (5) have been cancelled from the above. Could Donghai have abandoned plans for long haul and converted those orders to 737s? Could Hainan have decreased their book as a result of financial difficulties at its parent? Could the math be even more complex (i.e. new orders - cancelled orders = -5). The mystery remains...

There were no 787 cancellations nor UFO orders last month so all changes for the Unidentified Customers in July were identifications.

The total for Unidentified 787-9 orders actually went from 67 to 61, so that's minus 6.

This is how these 6 were allocated to the actual customers.

ALC: +1
China Southern: +1
United: +4

Final 789 for KLM from the current AF/KL order. KL will receive 8 more 787-10s between 2019-2021.
I do expect a follow up order to replace KL's A330 fleet though, most likely for 787-9s.

Some of the slowdown in deliveries has been attributed to issues with seat suppliers, United, Eva Air and China Eastern deliveries have all been affected due to this

The TN 789 already looks fantastic and it isn't even fully painted yet. Anyone know what airline is receiving the star alliance 787 in the background?

The RR engines are a known issue. That has slowed deliveries. Cest la vie.

I think the A330NEObwill initially also be impacted. If for no other reason than they are behind with Boeing.

UA N17001 has has made five test flights..but nothing in the last week. UA N14002 is next to start on the CHS FAL.
Delivery is not scheduled until November so no rush to get anything done it seems.

It does have the large 787 titles up front. It is not a good photo but if you zoom in on the photo you can see the 787 titles in grey. It is probably a one off for the first frame though.

I know that, but the rest of the livery (the green and orange parts) is different from EVA’s current livery. On phone now so can’t really post photo to compare. I’m wondering if that new design is a new permanent livery or if it just a one off together with the 787 titles.

Edit here is a photo of the current livery:

Note how on the 777 the orange band is thinner, does not separate from the dark green, and light green is entirely contained to the aft fuselage/tail.
