Highly unlikely, Qantas tend to announce orders when they announce their financial results, most likely they will announce something either when half year results are handed down late February or at full year results in August

Hi Everyone

As its a new year, I thought that it would be appropriate to start a new thread.

Refer to the following link for the last thread

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=593773&p=20039277#p20039277

To start off in this thread I thought it would be an ideal time to preview what is ahead for 787 Production/Delivery in 2018

During the course of 2018 based on a production of 12 per month we should see 144 787's produced and delivered plus the 3 787-10's which are currently being used at test frames, so a total of 147 787's are planned for delivery.

The first delivery of the 787-10 to Singapore Airlines is expected in late March, of course that is provided that the aircraft is certified in time

During the course of the year we will see 10 787-8's, 121 787-9's and and 16 787-10's delivered. From PAE we will see 80 787's produced and delivered (10 787-8's and 70 787-9's) while from CHS we will see 67 787's produced and delivered (51 787-9's and 16 787-10's)

This year we will see 8 airlines become a new operator of the 787 while another 6 airlines will take delivery of a new type of 787.

The new operators of the 787 in 2018 are

AIr Tahiti Nui (787-9)
Air Tanzania (787-8)
Biman Bangladesh (787-8)
China Eastern Airlines (787-9)
Eva Air (787-9)
Gulf Air (787-9)
Juneyao Airlines (787-9)
Singapore Airlines (787-10)

Airlines who currently operate the 787 and will take delivery of a new type are

Air Europa (787-9)
China Southern Airlines (787-9)
Etihad Airways (787-10)
LOT Polish Airlines (787-9)
Royal Air Maroc (787-9)
United Airlines (787-10)

In 2018 the following airlines will receive 787's

Aeromexico (2 x 787-9)
Air Canada (5 x 787-9)
Air China (2 x 787-9)
Air Europa (2 x 787-9)
Air France (2 x 787-9)
Air New Zealand (2 x 787-9)
Air Tahiti Nui (1 x 787-9)
Air Tanzania (1 x 787-8)
American Airlines (6 x 787-9)
ANA (3 x 787-9)
Avianca (1 x 787-8)
Biman Bangladesh (2 x 787-8)
British Airways (3 x 787-8, 2 x 787-9)
China Eastern Airlines (4 x 787-9)
China Southern Airlines (8 x 787-9)
El Al (5 x 787-9)
Ethiopian Airlines (2 x 787-9)
Etihad Airways (3 x 787-9, 4 x 787-10)
Eva Air (2 x 787-9)
Gulf Air (5 x 787-9)
Hanain Airlines (10 x 787-9)
Japan Airlines (4 x 787-9)
Juneyao Airlines (3 x 787-9)
KLM Airlines (3 x 787-9)
Korean Air (4 x 787-9)
LOT Polish Airlines (3 x 787-9)
Neos (2 x 787-9)
Norwegian (11 x 787-9)
Oman Air (3 x 787-9)
Qantas (6 x 787-9)
Royal Air Maroc (1 x 787-9)
Royal Brunei (1 x 787-8)
Royal Jordanian (1 x 787-8)
Saudi Arabian Airlines ( 2 x 787-9)
Scoot (2 x 787-9)
Singapore Airlines (8 x 787-10)
Thomson (2 x 787-9)
United Airlines (4 x 787-9, 4 x 787-10)
Uzbekistan Airways (1 x 787-8)
Virgin Atlantic (3 x 787-9)
Xiamen Airlines (2 x 787-9)

At the start of 2018 637 787's have been delivered. Taking into account that if all 147 787's are delivered, boeing would have delivered a total of 784 787's by the end of 2018.

With another exciting year of 787 Production/Deliveires ahead of us add your comments below

Thanks NYC777,

Your blog is always a great source of information.

I note Eva Air will receive a 787-9 through ALC. It seems like this delivery will be in addition to their order for the 787-10.

This is probably an indicator of the future make-up of the Eva Air fleet.

I think this one is the most interesting from the update:

LN805 -> 1st 787-9 for both GECAS and Suparna Airlines

Suparna Airlines is already operating a 787-8 that they got from Hainan. This lease deal with GECAS wasn't yet known.

Another interesting one:

LN807 -> 42th 787 for American Airlines, the last one from the current firm orders. To be delivered in Q1 2019.

According to some earlier rumors LN 315 ex PrivatAir N887BA is supposedly headed to Somon Air with delivery set for Q1 2018 .

It was spotted yesterday pinging on FR24 at VCV ramp so the rumor seems to have some truth in it :bouncy: :bouncy:

Wow! Given the high utilization that is impressive.

What is the reliability of the:
A330
A340
A350
748i

I'm very curious at how well the others are doing. I know we hear about below 99%, but not anything beyond that unless it is the top. So I'd like to know how the 787 is doing compared to the competition.

Here's possibly one of, if not the first, Dreamliners to have ended its lease, and being parked in the desert, albeit temporarily I'm sure, as someone will surely pick up these lease returns?

RR engine issues, not end of lease. Many similar 787's are down for same, eg VS.

Then why would it be sent to VCV, instead of stayng at SCL, if it's just related to the RR engine issues? I haven't heard/read of any others going to VCV for this!

Closer to an RR MRO than SCL?
No space at SCL to park the frame?
Better weather at VCV if you will park a frame for a while?

No space at SCL to park the frame?
Better weather at VCV if you will park a frame for a while?

I was convinced that the RR problem only was related to 789 - with a batch of faulty manufactured fanblades.

Are we now talking about two different problems?

As far as I have read are the RR "TEN" engines still unaffaceted?

No it is the same issue and it affects the Trent 1000 Package B and C engines and these engines are used on the 787-8 and 787-9.

Correct. The Trent-TEN addressed the sulfidation issue affecting the Package B and C series.
