Possibly a silly question that may have already been answered in the relevant thread: do the RR engine issues delay new-build deliveries in any way?

We know the Trent 1000 TEN is unaffected as they implemented the change during design and the affected in-service Trent 1000 Package C engines are being swapped out for ones with the fix so I would expect any customer taking Package C engines would be getting ones with the fix already installed, as well.

As for the Gulf Air 787-9 ZB858, she had her taxi test and first flight on 20 April, but there have not been any updates on this thread since.

Did you mean March 20th for the first flight?

Like many fellow a.nuts, very much looking forward to seeing it when it rolls back out. Am sure at least one of our sharp-eyed spotters up at PAE will get a photo or two :crossfingers:

I was looking at Singapore Airlines 787-10 seat map. Seatguru says the economy seats have a width of 19 inches and a 32 inch pitch. United’s 787-9’s seats have the same pitch but a width of 17.3 inches. How does Singapore do that? How narrow are the aisles?

Well Scoot's website says their 787 seats are 18" wide at 3x3x3, but I am guessing they are just using the 777 values for a placeholder. That being said, the aisles did look pretty narrow on the 787-10 and there is a pretty significant gap between the seat-backs.

They are actually 18 inches on the 787-10. Singapore Airlines confirmed this to Runway girl network. More than likely being done with 1.5 inch armrests (like on the A350) and 17.5 inch aisles.

The armrests do look narrow on the SQ 78J. Definitely less than 2 inches. Aisles look adequate, though.

Overall, SQ's looks like the most comfortable 3-3-3 787 seat and cabin.

That would be the second-to-last -9 on Air Canada's initial order. There's one more to come in May.

I wonder if anyone has inside scoop on whether AC will exercise any options for either more -9s or even -10s? Perhaps Longhauler would know. They are adding 4 more used A330s which would suggest that AC is opting for cheaper lift that will be easier to shed in a downturn, instead of going for more 787s.

According to the spreadsheets in November and the first EY -10 is supposed to be delivered in October even though the United -10 will be built first and one of the test aircraft will also go to united which will be delivered in December I guess.

Its weird that EY will get it before UA, I had thought UA would be getting much before EY.

Intesting the Gold colored nacelles on that Gulf Air plane.... I thought painting the nacelles was strong discouraged by Boeing..

Nevermind, I see the British Airways plane has Blue ones..... I guess leaving them white has gone out of practice.

N507BJ has had a nose gear collapse at MWH. This certain frame, LN 11, has been under VIP conversion for the Korean Government at MWH since around 3 years although planespotters.net says that it was ntu by the Korean Government.
According to the below mentionend sources the nose gear collapsed while nobody worked on the aircraft. Wonder how this could happen?

I consider the local PDX spotters. The founders of fake news. Considering I was there when the 787 landed. I do not know how a tour bus full of passengers could come off the 787. When there was no interior inside the 787.

Your comment about a large tour bus of passengers coming off of N887BA. Is very laughable and completely and utter false. I think you need to check your sources before you post fake news.....

I only posted what was relayed to me from local spotters in PDX.

There should be an additional 2 coming next year as I recall. Initial order was for 37 total 787s, these two put it up to 35 if my count is correct.

I machine they will order more, the 10 would likely be a very useful platform, though I know there are concerns with th payload range. Eventually, they will need more to replace the 12+ A333s they will have, not accounting for growth.

It is also possible that the company that manufactures the paint can now do colors other than the original white and grey while still keeping the laminar flow intact.

There are now several 787s awaiting RR engines at Everett.

https://twitter.com/JenSchuld/status/984520514524758016

It does look like the RR issues are now also catching up with Boeing.

But looking at NYC787's production table it does show that in the recent months the majority of 787s coming of the line were RR powered, about 2/3 RR and just 1/3 GE. Which is more then average compared to the total engine order. This pattern will flip around completely for the remainder of the year, more then 2/3 of production slots will be GE. So the production schedule was very RR heavy the last couple of months, with the lower rate of RR deliveries the coming months they will have a bit more room to built some replacement engines for the likes of LATAM.

One of the 787s without engines is Royal Brunei, which for some reason has been stored quite a while. Probably more than an engine issue, no idea if it will be a definite NTU or whether it will get just a later delivery.

The RJ 787 I believe is a definite NTU, wonder who will take that bird eventually.

Intesting the Gold colored nacelles on that Gulf Air plane.... I thought painting the nacelles was strong discouraged by Boeing..

Nevermind, I see the British Airways plane has Blue ones..... I guess leaving them white has gone out of practice.

I would say at this point, there are more 787 customers with painted engine cowling than customers that have opted to leave them white. The only airlines I can think of that have kept them white, relative to their standard livery are JQ, NH, SQ and UA. Surpridingly, NH, SQ and UA standard liveries all feature grey engine cowlings which was one of the original approved colors.

I would be interested to know if any of the airlines that have opted to paint the cowlings is their 787s have noticed a performance hit compared to airlines who have kept them white.
