That's interesting, the order was only firmed last week: http://boeing.mediaroom.com/news-releas ... tem=130196
Glad to see the RJ NTU taken up by another airline, I always hate to see brand new efficient aircraft being stored while gas guzzlers are still ploughing on.

The third 787-10 test plane, N565ZC (LN565/ZC002) is now showing as Sale Reported in the FAA registry. Tests are most likely complete for this frame. This should appear in SQ colours soon.

The second test frame, N548ZC, will be going to UA. Internal UA info suggests it won’t deliver until ‘19 though. Interesting to see if this one, or Ln#731 will be #1 in UA registration/Ship sequence.

They have been facing financial issues. There was also a (used, iirc) A332F painted that was ultimately not taken up last fall as well.

If they have a financial issues, what is the least costly option for them (all options are loss) to keep the aircraft with the manufacturer or bring it home and store it ?

The former. In that case they just forfeit any money already spent on the plane and pay the cancellation fees. In the latter option they have to pay the full price for the plane then continuously pay parking fees/storage fees/insurance etc on the aircraft. Not worth it if you have no desire or need to operate the aircraft anytime soon.

Singapore, United and Etihad are the 3 airlines due to have 787-10 this year. (Unless Etihad's plans change)

A total of 16 787-10s this year.

8 x Singapore
4 x United
4 x Etihad

I suspect that it’s rather too late to change for Etihad. I’m sure at this point the first parts for Etihads initial -10 have been produced.

Looks like long term storage. Perhaps Air China decided to have new RR engines on their current 787 fleet before taking delivery of new airframes.

Delivery has been pushed back to November, agree that they want to have their current 789's with new engines, currently 4 of 14 789's are out of service

What is happening with LOT’s third 787-9? It is supposed to be also in special national (red and white) livery celebrating 100 years of Poland’s Independence.

There has been a Scoot -9 that has been without engines for nearly a month now as well. The flightline is completely full of aircraft. If any other airlines decide to delay delivery I'm not really sure where they are going to park ready for delivery bodies. As you can see this Air China is blocking the final assembly exit door.

I have another question. Why are some RR equipped airlines accepting delivery and seemingly operating normally and then others, like Air China, deciding to delay delivery?

Possible theories include:

1) They are receiving Trent 1000 TENs, which are not under any Airworthiness Directives at this time (to my knowledge).
2) They are receiving Trent 1000 Package C engines that have been modified to address the issues outlined in the active ADs for that type.
3) They are receiving Trent 1000 Package C engines that have not been modified to address the issues outlined in the active ADs for that type and will operate them under the ETOPs restrictions and enhanced maintenance intervals currently outlined in the active ADs until such a time as they receive new engines with the modifications.

It was my understanding that all new builds will get the Trent 1000 Ten.
