I would say at this point, there are more 787 customers with painted engine cowling than customers that have opted to leave them white. The only airlines I can think of that have kept them white, relative to their standard livery are JQ, NH, SQ and UA. Surpridingly, NH, SQ and UA standard liveries all feature grey engine cowlings which was one of the original approved colors.

I would be interested to know if any of the airlines that have opted to paint the cowlings is their 787s have noticed a performance hit compared to airlines who have kept them white.

Correct but so is the rest of the fleet in those cases which is why I didn’t include them or airlines like JL. The 3 I named seem to be the only carriers who have 787 cowlings that differ from the standard livery

Boeing has quietly removed the OEW and Max payload data from the latest 787 (and 737 MAX) ACAPs. Not sure why they are doing this.

I’m not sure what the plan is. I’ve heard several stories from it was sold to a scrapper to Boeing using it to test recycling carbon fiber from the fuselage. All I know is it’s getting cut up from what I see in the picture.

Leeham reporting Boeing is facing delivery slowdown on 787 due to RR problems. Currently there are 6 frames at PAE waiting for engines and another 3 at CHS

Engines are currently being diverted from new production airplanes to AOG.

Things at CHS have been slow due to this RR issue. Only a few test flights have been happening per week and it's mostly JAL's newest -9 which I'm getting bored taking photos of.

Heavy rain and wind today made for some interesting landings. All arrivals were reporting very rough conditions on short final. This JAL has been going on very short test flights lately. Not sure if they are testing something or maybe feeling out the GE engines.

The next 4 -10s are going to Singapore Airlines, next in line is United, Etihad and ANA.

Could this be rationing of Trent 1000-TEN`s supply while RR try to catch-up with production?
It would make sense from what I read. Seems RR have a real balancing act to supply to the
airlines themselves & to Boeing......Must be nightmarish!

The 777-300 fleet seats 514 so the 777-300ER would be the direct replacement. The 777-9 when equipped with four sets of Type A and one set of Type C doors can seat 495 so that would be close. The 787-10 and A350-1000 have Exit Limits of 440.
