BNA just posted a video to Facebook about the fill in of the hole. Curious on what aircraft is parked next to AS?

That is a Canadian North Airlines 737. It’s been there for a few days.

Concourse D will break ground on June 20th.

It's about time. This needs to get going.

Good news. It says they’ll be breaking ground on the utility plant this summer and D in the fall, finishing Summer 2020. That’s really quick for something of this size!

It’s also good to see they’ll start expanding ticketing space on the WN side at around the same time.

Well it's that time again. WN schedule extension on May 31st. Pulling for IND or PDX once again.

I've seen in the WN schedule thread a few mentions of SMF. Not sure. In today's Business Journal the city is ranked #17 in the blockchain jobs market (I had to Google that one). I've often wondered if BNA could support a flight to SJC?

BNA-SJC will come sooner or later. Maybe not this year, but definitely in the years to come. With SJC going to be a gateway to Hawaii for WN, along with the business boom in both Silicon Valley and Nashville, there should be some demand (especially considering BNA-OAK is only once a day and not always convenient).

I don't remember if we've talked about this, but what do you think the future for AS and B6 holds at BNA? AS could obviously do PDX, but what about SAN or SJC? Then with JetBlue could they add JFK, DCA, or another FL city?

JetBlue I think will add jfk and mco in the next 5 years. That will be it for them.

WN flew BNA-PBI in the early 2000s. I’d like to see it return.

I think someone will fly to SJC. WN give more cnx options. I would not be sad to have AS on the route. As for B6, JFK maybe, MCO, mmmaaaybe, DCA no way. They would not use their slots on a route already dominated by AA and WN.

That's not the hole. WN was trying to transition from T3 onto T4 (at L). The hole is on the apron between Concourses B and C.

Yes, it’s sonething that should’ve been done a while ago. They need the apron space for expansion.

Interesting article from the Tennessean about Tennessee having the highest growth rate for international visitors in 2017.

https://www.tennessean.com/story/money/2018/05/24/tennessee-ranks-no-1-international-travel-growth-united-states/642420002/

Top countries where visitors came from were Canada, the UK, Germany and Japan.

Perhaps seasonal DE to FRA could be around the corner pretty soon? I'd frankly rather have that as opposed to an Iceland flight (which I don't want to see BNA land, at least not right now).

Points out the IAB should already have been in place, but MNAA was caught off-guard by the explosive growth. I think Condor is a given, and I still think Tokyo will happen. IMO, there will eventually be an Iceland carrier, but it'll be tricky with the temporary FIS. Having Briley as mayor (for at least a year), he and Spyridon will continue the push for a Japan flight. I'd also like to see a service to YVR. It'd be seasonal, maybe twice a week. Seems ripe for WS.

I’ve been doing dummy bookings for the BA service, and they appear pretty full with the exception of a couple seats of course. BA pilot tweeted out saying it was doing well with sales, and is full with cargo. I’m considering taking the flight to watch the Titans game across the pond. I believe seasonal to FRA on Condor will come. Too bad we have no ticket counter space now.

What tweet was that? Can you provide a link?

Yes, BNA needs more ticket counter space and better customs facilities ASAP. Though I will say, I'm in Austin this weekend, and you think BNA is out of space? AUS is 10x more cramped. They have almost the same amount of passengers with 20 or so fewer gates. They built a new customs facilities a few years ago after they landed BA and they'll probably outgrow it within the next 5-10 years.

I hope to get a better look at their new addition when I leave Tuesday. The same folks building the 9 gate terminal expansion at AUS (Hensel Phelps) will be building Concourse D at BNA.

I can attest to the cargo, they had at least 1 semi truck trailer full of it yesterday.

https://twitter.com/KeithAlanDunne/stat ... 8435988481 Here is the link to the tweet. I've been to Austin as well. It seems like a lot of stuff there is common use. Gate B10 or B11 would be our common use gates if someone else really wants to serve Nashville. As stated before, B10 is the only empty gate at BNA. It will be picked up by G4. I have an Iceland carrier, Condor, ViaAir, Spirit, and mayybeee Sun Country as new airlines to serve Nashville in the future.

I think you'll see Sun Country here sooner rather than later. Since they've focused more on the vacation traffic that's a win for them here.

I was reading comments on SY's Facebook page about the change. Most were from MSP flyers swearing they'll never fly SY again. Of course most will. Only the grumpy trolls who have never encountered a BOB service maybe. I'm trying to figure out where they would fly from BNA. NK can offer better competition to the big 4 I would think.

NK could cover DTW, LAS, DFW and FLL guaranteed in a possible 4 route expansion into Nashville. There’s opportunity to go elsewhere if they grow like BWI, EWR, and LAX.

Those first four are where I think they would go, though MCO might be swapped out over FLL which already has 2 carriers.

I wish NK would start service here, but I don’t see anywhere for them to go. I have a feeling it may be a while before they come unless they acquire F9.

Interestingly BNA-PIT has been running at 2 - 4 for the last 4-5 weeks. Next Sunday there are again 4 flights then it drops off to the normal schedule. That's quite the jump in capacity for just a 6 week period; hopefully BNA-PIT will go 2x daily year round soon.

They’d do FLL for connection purposes. MCO doesn’t offer the connections to the Caribbean. Connections are what would make FLL viable.

No, I meant nowhere to go gate wise. BNA has no room for NK in their terminal and likely won’t until all of the BNA Vision construction is completed.

I’d seen his personal 757 parked at LGA before he was elected. Not sure if it was always parked there, but it certainly tended to get some looks from fellow passengers.

Yep, completely packed. Same with my flight to AUS. I am utterly shocked no one else has jumped onto BNA-AUS; the two daily WN flights are the only two direct flights between the cities at the moment.

I am keeping my fingers crossed if DL makes AUS a focus city, that they'll jump on AUS-BNA. After seeing what I saw at AUS, DL would be stupid not to build up AUS when the 9 new gates come online.

You don't usually get much (if any) of a heads up on WN announcements unless it's a "big" announcement. So no, there could be an add and no one knows til the update is posted.

I suppose if they were going to add a location like PDX or one of the Northern California cities it wouldn’t make sense to add them during the winter when tourism is low. Maybe this coming spring. Kinda disappointing though, I figured we’d at least get one add this extension.

Only thing I’ve seen regarding this WN extension is that BNA-DCA is going 4x daily.

I suppose if they were going to add a location like PDX or one of the Northern California cities it wouldn’t make sense to add them during the winter when tourism is low. Maybe this coming spring. Kinda disappointing though, I figured we’d at least get one add this extension.

Seemed like a fairly bland extension overall anyways. I see Burbank and Houston got a couple adds, other than that, not much going on within the system.

The seasonal aspect of those routes makes sense. I still expected more than a 4th DCA flight.
