How is SaudiGulf doing?

They're not doing that well, and keep complaining about the overcapacity in the domestic market so that's why SaudiGulf is shifting its focus to overseas routes because the domestic market now has “some of the lowest fares in the world” as their CEO says.!

Nesma Airlines (Egypt) plans to add a pair of Airbus A330s to its registry by next summer
- Nesma Airlines (Egypt) will place the widebodies with Nesma Airlines (Saudi Arabia) sister airline for use on Hajj and Umrah flights, which are typically operated on a charter basis.

Are there any traffic figures for AMM or Aqaba?

I reckon with the new low-cost competition, those airports must be booming. Travelling from Europe to Jordan used to be quite expensive due to the relative lack of options (RJ or connecting with TK or something like that) and no low-cost. And Jordan has a lot of potential as a tourist destination (if only for Petra and Wadi Rum).

Flyadeal is a subsidiary of Saudia Holding Company, and it is the only ULCC in the region. there were news that Saudia and Flyadeal are going to work together in the future, so the way i see it is that Saudia might give Flyadeal all of those domestic skinny routes and thus Saudia could focus more on the premium domestic routes such JED-RUH, however Saudi aviation market is facing alot of competition these days with all the high speed trains operating recently in Saudi Arabia.

Thank you. Did they have financial issues? It reminds me of how Italy almost suspended Vueling's operating licence when their operations kept on collapsing.

Of course they did ! they have had bad management managing the airline and it's been in trouble for a while ! Source

I don't know but i think 3 carriers are too much in the Kuwaiti market ! I think someday we will have a lot of acquisitions and consolidations in the gulf region!

I remember booking a wataniya flight only to be told a few hours before departure that it was cancelled and that I was put on the flight the next day. Didn't want to travel the next day, as I was connecting at Kuwait and had no where to stay for the night. When I enquired with some of the gh agents at the airport regarding getting a refund from wattaniya they just laughed. Sorry to the staff that lost their jobs but this airline was a joke from start to finish. Hope Jazeera can fill it's boots and hire their staff.

History just repeats itself here when Flynas also operated KAYALA premium service between JED-RUH and failed and ceased its operation in 2009.

Interesting, will they fly the route with Emirates? Maybe it's to further improve connectivity without the need for EK to send additional widebody aircraft.

Zagrab isn't shared as they switch each season... I think BUD will be similar to PRG.
