Emirates has turned ZAG into a seasonal service. flydubai takes over in December until spring when EK is supposed to be back. I think this is their only seasonal service.

Check-in system at BEY was down last night creating chaos at the airport. Most flights were severely delayed, manually processing of boarding passes and even the army closed the road to the airport as no more cars could get in. Some aircrafts had to wait on the taxiway as all gates were full even the bus gates. Seems like the backlog will take a couple days to clear as even today flights are delayed.

Kuwait Update:

Wataniya airlines: Licence temp suspension as they’ve had a messy summer.. They tried to grow too fast with leased planes that were old. I think its a 3 month suspension.

Indigo Airlines: Will start flights to Kuwait in Oct from Chennai, Ahmedabad & Kochi daily (on Kuwait airport site they also had them at 2 other destinations) They might be forced to quickly expand as Vistara airlines wants to start Delhi to KWI next year and it seems all allocation to Kuwait by Indian airlines used up (although with Indigo flight only 80% operational)

Vistara: As stated above they have applied for Delhi to KWI starting next summer. Ive noticed that Jet has also approval to start this route but haven’t.

Earlier this year at a travel expo, I chatted with a Jeddawi who said that he wasn't looking forward to the new JED, because the current (albeit unpleasant) terminals are so small that both transfers and O/D pax never have a comparatively long way to go, vis-a-vis other hubs. (personally, after flying through NRT/HKG/LHR/FRA/etc. within the past few years, and then in both non-Hajj terminals in JED, I found his opinion nuanced, if slightly misleading.) However, what I DID not like was accidentally taking Uber to the North Terminal, when it really should have been the South Terminal. Public transit between the two is iffy at best. Ugh.

Also, what's wrong with an airline not serving alcohol? It's even more dehydrating "up there," not to mention it nearly eliminates one air rage variable...as long as pax knew alcohol wasn't served to begin with.

Additionally, although SV does censor more heavily its programming, in-flight censorship isn't limited to them. Overall, I've found their IFE to be better than many Euro- and East Asian carriers.

For the first time in its history over one million passengers passed through Amman’s QAIA (AMM) in one month, since last August 2018 AMM handled 1,002,010 passengers. As for the first eight months of 2018 AMM handled 5,804,735 passengers, an improvement of 7.2% over same period a year ago.
