I've seen review of the DL suites. I think they would suit AY's need as business class seat.

I'm not sure is this Delta's Business Class seat in A350, but this kind of seat would be amazing:

I've read that some eyewitnesses had heard bangs and seen flames from the right-side engine. According to the company responsible for air traffic control the aircraft was circling for a while with one engine but landed with two.

A technical fault is all they can say for now.

one question for the experts, doesn't the fuel dumped pollute the environment? or it's evaporating (i don'b believe so... )

Even if you don't believe it. The fuel is so fine mist when it comes out of the plane it will evaporate.

In those situations polluting the environment should be on of the last things on their minds.

Yes, at "normal" dumping altitudes the fluid fuel will evaporate, as in being turned into gas. Evaporation doesn't mean it disappears, though, but that it is dissolved in air (in this case). In the old days, evaporation was more or less considered to be equal to disappear (it was considered sooo little compared to the entire atmosphere, just like with exhaust gases), but I think we've learned a lot since then. The toxic components of the fuel is still there in the air, adding to pollution. Of course you should dump fuel to be able to land safely if needed, but I think burning it off is a better choice if possible. You will then end up with CO2 in the atmosphere, not medium chain hydrocarbons, which are the toxic components of Jet A(1). Dumping should be the last resort after possibly burning fuel off if you need to reduce landing weight. Landing overweight (which is the most environmentally friendly of the three methods) is unsafe so that is rarely used since even a successful landing means a costly and time consuming thorough check of the aircraft, and you obviously stand the risk of breaking something, possibly causing injury or worse to persons in or around the aircraft. I think the operators agree with this, otherwise they wouldn't bother to burn off fuel (since it takes a lot of time), but just dump it instead (possibly due to legislation).

I thought the same, it will evaporate but be in the air, like smoke or any chemicals we dump there. and eventually will land and pollute land, rivers and waters.

Not the first time. On 15 October 2014 JL414(JA827J) was delayed because of slide deployment. Next day another JL 787 came to pick up the passengers. JA827J left back to NRT 18OCT.

Thanks for the info. I remembered that JL's Dreamliners have had long delays before, but I thought they had always returned before the next inbound flight had landed.

Boeing 787-10 has now received certification from FAA, so which airlines are most likely to serve Nordics with the 787-10?

These airlines have ordered 787-10s:
    Singapore Airlines
    Etihad Airways
    EVA Air
    United Airlines
    British Airways
    KLM
    ANA

Of course, there are other candidate airlines that could order 787-10s.

Of these, probably none. United is no longer flying to the Nordics, the other European are using their for longhaul. Although you might see they do a one-of for some reason. A few other don't fly to the Nordics at all. And Singepore Airlines are planning a regional configuration for their 787-10, and not longhaul to Europe, which is with A350, A380 and 777

United still has a seasonal route EWR-ARN with a 757 if I'm not mistaken, but I doubt that route will se a 787-10. I don't think there is enough demand to support a 787-10 on the route.

Probably EK if it orders 787-10s. I think JAL is also possible, but since they ordered A350s, it may be pretty unlikely. How about Norwegian?

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet.

Norwegian are removing the ability to select seats at check-in without paying a fee. Previously, if you had a lowfare ticket with no seat selection, you could still make a choice at check-in. Now, you will be assigned one, and you have to pay at check-in if you want it changed.

SAS are also removing the free check-in bag for Silver, Gold and Diamond members flying on Go Light fares. This change will take effect in May.

Both are a bit disappointing. I generally travel with a checked-in bag, so if I fly Norwegian, I generally get the Lowfare+ anyway, so won't affect me too much. But, the SAS one I find very disappointing. I generally choose between the two airlines based on price after the added luggage. Seeing as I had EB silver, it was a Go Light Fare vs Lowfare+ comparison. In the future, it seems Norwegian will win out fare wise more often.

Since the demand on routes from HEL to WAW, VIE, BRU and ZRH has increased, I think there is a chance. I would like see more Star Alliance flights to/from HEL.

Also, I would like to see more flights from SkyTeam members (Air France, Alitalia, Air Europa etc.). In Oneworld, I think HEL mainly lacks Iberia. And if we go to wishful thinking (which some of my previously mentioned airlines are), then Cathay Pacific and American Airlines :) But those airlines would not operate from T1.

I think it will be really hard for LO to capture some local traffic between WAW and HEL as AY will fly up to 18 times per week this summer season. On top of that, I don't know how big the markets is from Finland to eastern and central Europe, the Balkans and the eastern Mediterranean.

As you know, AA did ORD, but now it's AY serving the route. (Which happily will go daily this summer season)

Yeah, but I would like to see AA back in HEL. It's good indeed that ORD will go daily. I also expect SFO to have more frequencies in the future as it was one of the best performing routes for AY this year.

Icelandair will have multiple afternoon flights from each Nordic capital this summer.

OSL:
FI323 departing 14:00
FI319 departing 14:45
ARN:
FI309 departing 13:50
FI307 departing 14:20
HEL:
FI347 departing 15:15 (5x weekly)
FI343 departing 15:35
CPH:
FI205 departing 14:00
FI207 departing 14:30
FI209 departing 14:35 (6x weekly)

These extra afternoon flights replace the morning flights that have been abolished along with onward connections to North America.

These extra afternoon flights replace the morning flights that have been abolished along with onward connections to North America.

Interesting. Do you know why they suspended the morning flights?

I know it had become difficult to grow this morning bank of flights more. The flight times were probably a tougher sell than the main bank in the afternoon, especially on the eastbound flights, with connections in KEF around midnight and very early arrivals into Europe. Nighttime curfews at major European airports also limit the options for growing this bank.

Do these afternoon bank flights connect with westbound flights to America?

So the rumours were true, great news!
We’ve been desperate for a new connection to TXL here, as we were the only ones that went from FOUR daily flights on AB, to zero! We didn’t have SK or DY as back-up here like the capitals did. And i expect this flight to increase to double daily eventually...

I saw on Wikipedia that SK will be launching year-round flights to Aarhus and seasonal flights to Thessaloniki, Geneva, Prague and Warsaw from Oslo. How is SK generally doing there given that Norwegian is expanding like crazy all over the globe? How are they fighting to preserve their Norwegian market?
