AA starts 5th route to Colombia: CTG

Sat Dec 16, 2017 6:25 pm

Inaugural flight today on A319 with 128 pax on board, scheduled daily flight.
Others AA routes to Colombia are BOG-MIA (3 daily) BOG-DFW (daily) MED-MIA (2 daily) CLO-MIA and BAQ-MIA (both daily flights). I believe all flights are operated by A319/320 planes. Still remember the days when AA flew the A300 B763 and B757 to BOG alone.
What other routes to Colombia could we see in the future?

I believe they tried the route before?

Very happy to see AA add another destination in Colombia, and in particularly CTG which has long seemed like a glaring hole in AA's network from its MIA hub. It's such an incredible country, and CTG in particular is such an amazing city. I hope this route is successful - I suspect it will be.

Both MIA CTG and DFW GIG started yesterday 12/15. DFW GIG being seasonal. MIA CLO is still a 738 route I believe.

I really hope Cartagena doesn’t get discovered by the beach holiday / spring break crowd. It’s far too lovely and the people far too welcoming for it to become spoiled...

Unfortunately starting next year some cruise lines with their mega ships (over 5,000 passengers) will start making Cartagena a port of call. So it is only a matter of time before word spreads about this wonderful city. It is good that AA is growing in Colombia but the cruise lines are starting to take a look at Colombia as well which might be good for the local economy but also at the same time it could be bad for a place like Cartagena.
