Yet it's surprising FR has not tapped into this market. Many other small French cities have FR service (Brive, Lorient, Dinard, Tours, etc.). If FR offered a €10 flight to London, they would certainly fill their planes!

No, Aigle Azur has been a mostly regular carrier for a while now. They mainly operated routes to Algeria from Paris and other big french airports (Lyon, Marseille, Lille, Basel/Mulhouse etc...) and then to Portugal or Mali. Now ZI is lauching a new kind of destinations such as main european metropolis like Moscow, Berlin or Milan.

If only more airports could act that way... !

Taxpayer money used to attract carriers has positive consequences on local businesses and jobs. So why not?

Indirect jobs are created when you bring people somewhere, not just at the airline.

Taxpayer money also builds airports in France. What if nobody flies there?
