AA60 NRT-DFW diverts to SEA

Thu Nov 23, 2017 3:53 am

AS 60 diverted to SEA this morning after experiencing an engine failure. Not sure of the ship #, but it's a 77E.

I'm sure you mean AA60 here especially given the title :duck:

N782AN is the ship that diverted. Looks like N781AN is taking over.

Why are so many 77Es having engine troubles? We had the BA one a while ago that had an engine fire after takeoff.

What criteria are you using for your trouble criteria? The data seems to suggest the exact opposite.

There are some 350 77E's in service, I believe. I would hardly qualify a handful of engine issues as "many"

Apparently it was a compressor stall.

Yes, AA not AS. My phone did an update of the keyboard and languages recently that I can't uninstall that has screwed up autocorrect and learned words.
