Rumor has it that DEL is more likely than BKK to be LO's next long haul destination.

Great news for LO! I’m also looking forward to seeing the Boeing 787-9 in LOT colours. Any other potential long haul routes other than BKK and DEL?

Perfect move. There is a potencial for this route out of Eastern Europe. Rumor that next destination will be New Delhi.

Because of the night curfew in WAW the plane sits in SIN for 7 hours. Maybe LO could add a tag-on to CGK or DPS...?

Could WAW - HKG and/or PVG work ? Surely higher yielding than any possible WAW - BKK.

Why do that when SQ can simply feed you at SIN?

SIA has a JV with LH, so I am not quite sure if they will be willing to feed LO, similar to why there is very limited co-operation between LO and Air China / ANA.

SQ has code share with LO. SIN-AMS/ZRH/FRA/JFK/MUC/BCN/LHR/DUS/CPH. Nothing regional as far as I can find.

The current codeshare is only for WAW-SIN via various gateways in Europe. I guess SIA will put their code on LO's flight, but not much more than that.

Nice to see the airline return to SIN! Eastern Europe is still pretty underserved, and I don't like to route through the ME3 or TK.

LOT in recent years has been discovering the wonders of Asia, this is great news and adds another important destination in this ever growing part of the world. LOT should leave the Star alliance as Lufthansa, ANA and Singapore Airliens don't help it to Asia or to the USA. OneWorld would love a hub in that part of the world and LOT would greatly benefit from OW since so many of their long haul destinations are OW hubs or focus cities. Imagine a LOT with AA, BA, JAL, Qantas and Cathay in its corner, lots more 787 flying from Warsaw.

Great news! Good mix of business and leisure traffic. I'm actually kind of surprised it's Singapore and not Hong Kong/Guangzhou/Shanghai. Then again, PEK isn't doing as well as the other Asian flights. And BKK is served reasonably well 1.5x per week via Rainbow tours charters. Delhi is next? :bouncy:

It sits that long in SIN to meet the hub banks.

A big question is whether LH will allow Singapore to sign a codeshare agreement covering Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand flights?

What another nice long haul add by LO.

It would be nice to see LO resume WAW-HAN, as it has lots of demand and with an 787, would be an good aircraft for the route.

Haven't seen a press release either, but it's on the website:

Last time LO served SIN they had code-share with Qantas to Australia, but that was before the OW and Star Alliance. At that time most traffic was to Australia and not as much to Singapore. Today time are different and there is more traffic just to SIN, so this route should be fairly successful.
On another note LO is adding one frequency to its WAW-NRT route for the summer of 2017. LOT says that average load factor is around 80% with good loads in premium cabins. They will also switch 787-8 to 787-9.

Fantastic! SIN is very well-served to Western Europe but hardly has any flights to Central and Eastern Europe

This is getting old. If LOT's management thought *A is a good fit then that's it. They must be better informed than us do. Plus jumping alliances can easily cost you a 8 to 9 digit figure in USD which I'm sure LOT doesn't want to throw away right now.

In addition which of the LOT's long haul destination (SIN included) is NOT a *A hub? Arguably only JFK fits the criteria. Even if you argue that there's not much cooperation between LO and LH/NH/CA/OZ/UA/etc I'm sure there will still be some in the form of interline connection, etc.

Plus LO is still using LH's Miles & More when you say LH is not helping??

All these airlines are listed as LO's codeshare partners.

SQ, for example, codeshares on LO's eight routes from SQ's other European destinations to Warsaw. In turn, LO codeshares to SIN and onwards to other destinations beyond SIN.

You do know that Miles&More is also LO's frequent flyer programme? No wonder their lounge is full of M&M members...

Pretty much same timetable as AY's HEL-SIN-HEL. More competition in NE Europe. AY has advantage of daily flights tho.

AY may have advantage of daily flight, but LO has more connections throughout Central and Eastern Europe.
