UPDATE: An A330 ferry flight from PAE to SEA experienced a left engine issue on final approach at SEA tonight.
A left engine fire reported upon landing was extinguished. There were no passengers onboard, and the two pilots were unharmed.
The aircraft is currently being inspected.

A330 version is A330-243 and aircraft age is just below 3 years. http://www.airfleets.net/ficheapp/plane-a330-1606.htm

Airplane was being ferried from maintenance at PAE to SEA. Could be a compressor stall, or something maintenance induced if they were working on the thrust reverser.

I'll throw in fuel leak after MX, wasn't there an issue with a fuel pipe on the T700 that came in left and right handed versions but it was possible to fit the wrong one and led to multiple issues with pipe cracking and leaks.

It can be hard to guess what caused a problem when an airplane is on its flight out of maintenance. I'm sure they'll be reviewing what work was done very closely. Their maintenance inspector may also pay them a visit.

I haven't read anything about a maintenance facility at PAE. Anyone have links for this, just general information?

If I remember correctly, HA brings its A330 to PAE to put the new first class cabin.

N375HA was at PAE for interior reconfiguration, including the addition of the lie-flat seats. Being there for 10 days, there was probably other MX done as well. I believe ATS is the facility.

I was at Sea-Tac last night visiting a friend who had an extensive layover. We watched the whole thing unfold last night. First time i've seen a compressor stall in person! It shook the windows so bad my first reaction was we were having an earthquake. Glad all the crew are safe. The aircraft was towed to the Delta hangar from the runway.

A lot of speculation going on.
The aircraft received a service check and seat mod at PAE, nothing that would cause that.
A proper investigation will show the true cause.

Usually they only stall when ingesting a bird or something, unless something went wrong with the NGV's scheduling. They produce an almighty bang, it's all that unburnt fuel that suddenly explodes out the back. More likely to occur on take off.

if that plane was to do either SEAHNL or SEAOGG today, they must have cleared it because both flights departed ontime.

N375HA is still in SEA. Both SEA flights (29 to OGG and 21 to HNL) were operated by the aircraft that flew up from OGG and HNL yesterday. Maybe one of those two was supposed to go in for the same refit but was turned around and used to cover for N375HA?

Exactly. 383 was scheduled next for lie flat mods. That plan has changed obviously, as it was needed to operate one of the morning flights back to Hawaii.
Once 375 goes back into service, I'm sure 383 will find its way to PAE.
