New business seats look like they have a really weird angle for your legs when in sleeping mode??
bunumuring wrote:Hey guys,
Sorry Singapore Airlines, but a FAIL in my opinion. The colours in particular are awful, really insipid. The economy seats look LCC, prem Eco not much better, biz class too cramped and first class looks dreary. I do like the design concepts apparent in the suites, but the execution (the hardware and the software) looks poor and uninspiring. Maybe it's the photos, maybe it's the lighting, but wow I am shocked at my instant dislike of the product as displayed in the photos presented.
Over to you, Emirates...
Cheers,
Bunumuring..

The existing seats also have the angle, but because they are like a bench, it is less noticeable. That said, while the existing J seats are great for sleeping, they are actually very poor to sit on. I have back problems and the SQ J seats are terrible for me to sit because it is like sitting on a garden bench and not on a seat. It seems that this design has that improved.

Going to be for duty free or ‘other’ onboard purchases?
After the planned revamp, the seat count in the Singapore Airlines A380s - which it flies to destinations like Sydney, London and Hong Kong - will rise by as much as 24 percent to 471 as the airline makes better use of the aircraft’s space without reducing the size of economy class seats.

I hope for them the extra revenues of people upgrading from economy is larger then people saving cost by downgrading from business..
Explain your controller this seat isn't good enough and you need a real flat bed, at $x000 extra.

cheeken wrote:I'm a little confused...why is everyone complaining about the seat being thinner? Isn't that a good thing? A thinner seat isn't a harder seat, it's just thinner. Thinner seat = more legroom space right?
or does every one mean thinner as in narrower?
qantas747 wrote:I quite like this, it seems to balance the needs for additional revenue and comfort for all passengers. I like that the premium economy cabin will be fairly standalone compared to other carriers so that will enhance the exclusivity.
Interesting that there are only 44 W seats. Compared to the planned QF remodel where they will bump up premium economy to 70 seats. Presumably because QF mainly flies the 380 on much longer routes where passengers are more likely to pay a premium without fully upgrading to business.
Will be great to see what happens on SIN-SYD when both airlines will have the latest product connecting through to LHR.
SQ definately has the edge in F, but QF might have them covered in the other booking classes.
I wonder if QF will rethink their reconfig in light of SQs launch.. They definately have time on their side to make some adjustments.
I think it also shows that perhaps the gimmock of an onboard shower is not actually needed. So perhaps EK may remove them in the launch of their new product.
I know I would much prefer a shower on the ground as opposed to a short 5-10m refresh in the air.
RL777 wrote:None of those products look particularly great, the color scheme is far too cold when compared with the current style which is inviting and warm. I am happy to see they have finally dropped the flip down style bed in J, but the new product looks quite cramped width wise (that might just be the photos).

It's good to know that even the toilets are going to be in carpet. I can finally walk around without shoes on! I hate having to put on some footwear just to avoid people's piss on the floor.

Carpet won't eliminate pee on floor, trapped pee odours will get enhanced too

Rarely if ever had a problem in First. Mostly it's in Economy and sometimes Business where people just don't know how to direct their junk especially kids.
