money I`d have thought, as whenever I`ve flown there the planes have always been full. The fares could come
down ( they seem very high considering fuel cost ) & that would attract more numbers. I don`t work for AB

The 744s provide MCO and LAS heavyweight capacity.
I'll be interested in the re-allocations for the Winter timetable. Barbados is a strong destination ex-MAN with all 3 carriers (MT and BY) heading there.

They looked at moving Bridgetown to LHR a while back but it went back to LGW and the spit remains. The plan is to replace the leisure B744s with A350s, but no logic in moving such a point to point leisure route to LHR that I can see.

FoxtrotSierra wrote:I saw multiple VS 747's while waiting for my flight at MCO yesterday, and it still amazes me that there is service to GRU, GIG, MEX, BOG, PTY, LIM, DXB, FRA, CDG, AMS, MAN, DUB, DUS, CGN, CPH, OSL, KEF, GLA, and even BHD(!) but not LHR. I'm almost certain that no other airport in this country has every single one of these, and yet LHR is nowhere to be seen. Seriously guys, how is it possible that LHR is not served from MCO. If you heard some unnamed airport has a list of these destinations, 99% of people would assume LHR would be among those. BA seems to have some strange aversion to flying LHR-MCO, and at this point, I'm pretty sure they will never fly to LHR because they believe so heavily in the allure of capturing as much low yielding Disney traffic as humanly possible instead of even attempting to go after some business traffic. MCO-LHR is easily the top priority for the airport and the dream route for any CFL avgeek. I'm going to hazard a guess that GOAA has figured out that BA doesn't give a crap about starting LHR, but what about VS? VS runs a much bigger operation in MCO, and actually connects traffic from DL into MCO onto on its 747's. When they retire the 747's, is it possible that one of the LGW frequencies is switched to LHR? The A/C will have to be switched, and that opens up the possibility of 787's or A330's which are LHR based, as opposed to the 747 which was exclusively LGW based.

I go for work as little as possible, and it's my least favorite city in any country on any continent.
Flat, featureless, artificial and corporate feeling.
Have you guys even started recycling yet?
Appreciate the tourist traffic you have. It's better than most cities its size, so no complaining is needed.

It was widely assumed that the A380 order would be cancelled as part of the A350 deal, but it wasn't.
Inquiring minds wonder why not?

If they haven't taken them by now it seems very unlikely. The assumption may be the order is on the books for another order for Airbus twins which is likely to come down the road.

Maybe not the new orders but they won't even consider a few of the slew of A380s that will be hitting the market soon when EK starts rotating out older frames? If lease prices are what they're worried about would they not get a better deal with used frames?

Doesn't deserve an LHR flight??! You're kidding right? I didn't realize it was such an honor to be served by LHR.

They'll have to replace the A330s eventually so it could be swapped out for an A330neo order or an A350 900 order.
