AA JFK to EZE 777-300ER

Fri Sep 22, 2017 1:01 am

I am flying to EZE in mid-January on AA and just noticed my aircraft has been swapped from a 772 to a 773. Looks like it may just be a seasonal adjustment given the peak summer in Argentina but curious if anyone has any more information. Doubtful this would be a permanent add, particularly given UA's re-entry into the Greater NY to Buenos Aires market and AR's presence on JFK-EZE as well but the AA flight I believe does well. Wonder where the 773 is coming from.

Wow! Awesome! The new government and new policies are helping create more wealth and more demand to/from Argentina. I am happy to read this. So MIA-EZE and JFK-EZE are now seasonally 77W routes at AA?

Wow, after five years of only looking around, I'm finally able to post! I hope this will be the first of many. As a former AA employee at SAP, I'm still very enthusiastic about aviation and of AA, where I spent 15 years.

Wasn't EZE one of the first stations to kick off the 77W for AA along with GRU and LHR? I thought 77Ws were still permanent at Ezeiza, except for the DFW flight.

Cheers!

Not sure about JFK but MIA 77W operations are year-round. That's one daily with the 300ER and the other two MIA with the 772, so is DFW and if would appear now that JFK has upgauged to the 300. For the record during Irma, the JFK rotation was operated with the 300.

Confirmed upgauge during the peak Argentina summertime travel season. Upgauge is effective Jan 8 - Feb 13 and it implies 50 more seats per flight segment/day and a First class cabin on the route.

With this AA upgauge and the addition of UA EWR-EZE beginning October, there will be 55% more seats offered between the two cities this upcoming peak travel season than last one.

AA is just using a 77W on the opposite summer season since its slow time over the Atlantic. To Asia the 77W is only used on the two Hong Kong flights from LAX and DFW. Sydney, Australia which used to be a 77W destination is now a 787-9. The 77W are big to London Heathrow from almost all AA gateways except Chicago where most if not all flights are 787-8.

EZE wasn't one of the original 773 launch markets when AA first got the plane. LHR/GRU were the focal points of 773 service when the deliveries began.

Huh? AA is not sending a 77W to EZE because it is winter and slow over the Atlantic... But rather because there is increased demand in Argentina. Of course it helps that the northern and southern seasons are complementary.

Man, missing it by two weeks. Taken an AA 77W just once, fairly soon after it was brought into service on LHR-JFK, really enjoyed it.

Great news to see Argentina pick up demand, even if only for 6 weeks.

That is interesting. Perhaps they load finalized schedules a little different for international than they do for domestic, because it looks like final schedules have only been loaded through January 7 domestically.

Also, perhaps my math is a little off, but they would have a need for 21 B77Ws (JFK-EZE 2, JFK-GRU 2, JFK-LHR 1, LAX-LHR 1, MIA-LHR 1, MIA-EZE 2, MIA-GRU 4, DFW-GRU 2, DFW-LHR 2, LAX-HKG 2, DFW-HKG 2). Perhaps I am just over-allocating though.
