Air Canada 737 MAX cabin/seat map revealed

Wed Sep 20, 2017 8:21 pm

Cabin is 16J/54Y+/99Y. I think this is the first time AC has extra legroom economy. On YYZ-SNN they charge 100$ for it. J has 38'' and Y has 30'' of legroom (I assume thinner seats are in the play since this plane will be flying for 7+ hours). No mention of Y+ legroom. Tbh the cabins don't look half bad. It's definitely much better than their old seats and colours, both of which were in a severe need of updating.

AC currently has Y+ on all of its A32X fleet which sell for about ~$50 domestically, and unfortunately, with the 7M8 the legroom will be reduced from 35-6in to 34in at least following the UA seat map for their 738s. The new screens will be nice but given that AC is moving to the smaller lavs and 30" legroom not sure if it's really an 'upgrade' over the cushy A320 seats.

Pitch does not equal legroom. Thin seats can have more legroom with a smaller pitch.

Very true, flew an older AF A343 then hopped on a Brand new 77W, so much more room on the 777!

The link you posted shows details regarding the business seats, but do you know if economy will feature personal IFE too?

First link states that there will be TV's at every seat.

Details also here in the AC website https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/home/fly/onboard/fleet.html re: 'personal touch TV's at every seat'

Interesting that AC continues to invest in PTV's on their narrow-body fleet while WS and AA/UA down south have chosen to go the BYOD route with personal device entertainment.

I'm very happy that AC are sticking with PTVs. The in-flight entertainment system is vastly superior and far less cumbersome than BYOD.

Very nice interior. I love the Sky Interior: such a big improvement! Looks professional and inviting, if a bit too 'grey'? I miss a bit of colour (as usual)..I would have appreciated a splash of red here and there, and maybe some dark green accents?
Not too sure about legroom in Y, although as some are pointing out, the new thin seats do wonders. C class looks nice, albeit a bit cramped if sold as J (and @J prices) for transatlantic??... 38" is good enough for a shorty like me, but still I wouldn't like to pay the same $$$ as a fully flat 777/333 seat..!!!

This is trans-Alantic Business class?? They must be joking. No way one should pay substantial amounts of money on a J fare if these are the seats offered.

The first link says there will be IFE at every seat. Plus, with this thing crossing the pond, it would only make sense.

This will suit the Irish market pretty well especially at SNN. A short enough flight so seats in J are fine.
