Hello all,
I was spotting at ATL this weekend at saw N301DV, Delta A321. I looked up the regestration and found out that this plane was orginally regestered N301DN, the first Delta A321. Why did the regestration change? Any insight would be helpful!

IIRC it was done for an Airbus pilot that passed away.

It was changed to "DV" in remembrance of Dave Vorgais, a Delta line check pilot who was on the flight crew during testing and delivery of this aircraft.
