Not sure who they plan to operate for?

Probably hoping that if by some modern miracle DL pilots relax scope, they can easily be converted to 76 seats where as a 170 cannot.

Unlike the E175 the E170 didn't receive a performance improvement package. In addition, the resale value of the E175 is much more attractive.

Would they take out 6 seats and just leave a curtained off empty area in the back without changing pitch in Y? Or would they actually spread out the seats? If they spread out, wouldn't pitch be close to F? Perhaps they will increase pitch in F, say from 37" to 50", and Y will remain 31" pitch

The tetris has been played and it doesn't result in a big empty space. The customers will not be upset when flying that plane.

What kind of layout/pitch we talking about?
My guess is they would match the UX CR7 layout so if they have to they can swap out equipment easy. So perhaps 6F/16Y+/48Y? This would also then make for an easy conversion to 76 seater for Delta if the time comes by just adding 6 F seats, which also then would match their UX layout for interoperability.
Pitch (total guess)
F - 40
Y+ - 37
Y - 34

What non-union shop is replacing a union shop?
OO is union, QX is union....

This order isn't for E2s. E2s will never be flown for AA/UA/DL without being flown by mainline.

Probably the same price and these have the ability to be 76 seaters later... Smart thinking... the 170 has different engines, so parts are common. This will pave the way for Aspen operations.. just watch a few more for UA announced soon.. (just my guess)

Skywest does NOT have a union.

I stand corrected. I see a lot of OO pilots at SEA and PDX with ALPA lanyards and stickers on their bags.... Thanks for pointing that out
