They were summer-only, seasonal.
Now they will be year round. Soon AMS and DUS will follow.

Hope they will be day flights

TK CEO just announced that Ankara Frankfurt (3 weekly) , Berlin and Vienna (each 2 weekly) will become year-round once again from end of October as they are already served by TK in the summer timetable. Dusseldorf and Amsterdam to be added from December as well on a year round basis..great but too sad that London Heathrow, Paris, Zurich, Dubai not added to the list as of yet...

Also the fact that these year-round routes will be served on mainline TK fleet (not Ajet) is great...

Turkish Cabin Interiors(TCI) wins contract to outfit galley and furnishings for 10 AZAL Airlines 737MAX orders

So far TCI has won contracts to outfit 244 aircraft from foreign customer in 2017!

Are these the same folks who are contracted to furnish galleys for India's Spicejet?

Yes indeed. TCI is a TK subsidiary. In addition to Spicejet, Jet Airways also placed an order with TCI.

Does anybody know when the third runaway at ESB will be completed and put into service?? I guess the new runaway will be dedicated for departures and one of the existing two paralel runaways for arrivals or vice versa..Any comments?

I have no special information, but most recent Google Earth imagery is showing significant development on the east side of the present airport--is that the runway itself or a parallel taxiway for the runway?

That's a taxiway but I believe it was built to runway standards. The land that the runway will go over is entangled in a legal process with land owners I think, as it is very close to the village of Balıkhisar.

Second terminal is to be built between this taxiway and the access road to the first terminal according to the master plan.

Haven't seen much/any news about this so might as well try it here if anyone has more info.

A few months ago, the Albanian PM and the TK CEO had a press conference announcing plans to establish an Albanian airline based at TIA. Little information was provided, other than to say that the airline was supposed to fly to the surrounding countries and that more would be announced before the end of the year. Now, personally I don't tend to pay much attention to what Albanian politicians say, but given the cozy relationship between the PM and Erdogan and TK's involvement, I thought this story might have some legs. The Albanian market is one of last, if not the last market in Europe without much LCC competition outside Italy. And traffic is booming nonetheless despite the high fares (largely as a result of the high fees at TIA) . This year traffic has been up around 25%. The lack of the low cost carriers is primarily being made up by charter flights in the Summer and the increase in foreign tourists is very visible. I'm not saying because I'm from there, but I'm a pleasantly shocked at how much tourism has boomed in Albania. So there definitely might be a real business case for a TK backed airline based at TIA, even though subsidizing an existing airline seems like a cheaper alternative.

I also noticed that TK added a third daily flight on IST-TIA on select days without much fanfare in late Sept. The timing is a bit strange as it was after the summer rush and the flight seems to go away with the winter schedule.
