SWISS Avro RJ100 HB-IYZ

Wed Jul 26, 2017 3:40 am

As the last RJ-100 in the fleet HB-IYZ continues to operate a full daily schedule. Has a date been set for the final flight of the aircraft with Swiss and is there any talk of a farewell flight for enthusiasts.

It's really the only one still flying?
How is Swiss operating their LCY schedule with only one plane?
The CS100 isn't running the route, yet. Proving flights only.

Yep, HB-IYU was flown to Cranfield earlier this month. Besides IYZ, Swiss operates Helvetic Airways E190s to LCY

How come the RJ's are heading to Cranfield?, I spotted one of the ex-Brussels Airlines RJ's parked up there when I passed by the other day.

As per my source, the last scheduled flight is planned to be ZRH-LCY-ZRH on August 14, followed by a media event in GVA the day after.
On August 19 three farewell flights from/to ZRH, although for employees only.
There is a farewell flight for enthusiasts on August 20, but as far as I know it's sold out and friends of mine are on the waiting list. You may want to check out buchairshop.ch where it was bookable.

Last commercial flight is scheduled to be LX464/465 ZRH-LCY-ZRH on AUG 14th.
On AUG 15th there will be a media event in GVA and a media flight GVA-ZRH.
On AUG 19th there will be 3 sightseeing flights over the alps for employees and their family and friends.
On AUG 20th there will be a charter flight for BuchAIR-Shop Glattbrugg. This will be the final flight with passengers before the aircraft will be sold.

(Also AUG 15 should see the 1st CS100 service on ZRH-LCY-ZRH as LX466/467)

First CS100 LCY service is actually scheduled on the 8th of August, unless schedules haven't been updated yet ?

Avalon Aero has an RJ maintenance base there. And I think Falko (the lessor) also has some ties either with Cranfield or with Avalon.
