No, I really liked it when I saw the renderings some months ago. I just think that there is a difference in what was planned and how it now looks in reality, e.g. at night, with clouds etc.

The first Bombardier Q300 entered the paint shop in TSV yesterday (26/7), VH-SBB should take around 12 days to be repainted

Flying Colours Aviation in TSV has been awarded the contract to repaint 10 Qantaslink aircraft

Those winglets really are quite large. Almost looks like another aircraft tail parked next door lol

I love it, especially on the F100. I'm sure the 717 will also be stunning. Maybe if it had been originally unveiled on a QLink aircraft it would have a much better reception.

Question - Do EBL and EBG have SkyBeds or domestic recliners? Will they be refitted or return after lease? I know there was some talk of turning more 332s international, any updates on what this would entail?

just a little error: SBW is not in QF livery anymore: http://www.airport-data.com/aircraft/ph ... 82810.html I believe it now flies for JQ on New Zealand domestic routs...

They're featuring the old Skybed I and Rockwell Collins IFE. These two birds are the only A332s with crew rests from what I've heard, and that's why they're regular on QF107/108 (PEK, currently the longest A332 flights).

I've also heard about turning these two birds, along with some refitted birds, to long-haul ops with crew rests and more toilets etc. Has anyone have any updates on this?

SBW is all white currently.

Probably not as it would of needed an repaint with new QLink branding at some stage, or they will keep it as an hot swap aircarft between QLink and Propstar.

Just running my eyes over the fleet would appear 90% has been repainted in the NEW 2007 livery! This is going to be a long journey watching the fleet received the revised NEW Roo 2016 livery.

That would be about the right. With the 737's it looks like they are starting with the ones that are still in 1984 livery

A couple of quick additions to the list - QPJ is Silveroo/Mardi Gras (Rainbow Roo); QOH is QantasLink 2007/Breast Cancer Awareness; LQM is QantasLink 2007/Recognise; YQW is QantasLink 2007/Visit Tasmania ('The Tassie Devil'); and XZN is WiFi equipped as of last week (a mate sent me a photo of it with the pod on the fuselage).

I've seen some different photos of -SBB and I agree, it suits the new livery well - my only criticism is that, as with the 2017 QLink livery, the QantasLink titles are too far back on the aircraft and obscured by the landing gear.

Just a shame the silver isn't a little darker on the roo.

The outdated 90s signage on the Melbourne domestic terminal also need an update, drives me nuts every time.

Apologies for the poor image quality but I saw this in the onboard Qantas magazine at the beginning of the year.

Also, in one of their investor presentations, Qantas had this render of their domestic fleet in the new livery although it might not be the most accurate rendering out there

There will be 2 more 717's that will be reconfigured from all economy to 2 class. Aircraft will be redeployed from WA and onto services from BNE to both ADL & CNS

The Dash8 doesn't look bad, I will begrudgingly admit that! So far it's the only aircraft I think looks better in the 2016 livery than 2007.

I've heard there will be a fair bit on for the engineering team at QF over the next 2 years with up to 6 domestic A330-200's being reconfigured for international operations as well as the A380 fleet approved for interior upgrades too.

Silver accents where needed
New look titles
Re-do nacelle logos and historic logo near nose

All while keeping 2007 Kangaroo, overall aircraft would not need repaint, only bits of it.

How is that more economical? Firstly, the repaints are mostly being done as part of the aircrafts 'normal' repaint due periods. Aircraft repaints aid in fuel efficiency. A patchwork paint job looks terrible..you can see the differences between old and new paint..old paint eventually loses its 'sheen' and is warn down over the years. The paint itself (quality and composition) has evolved over the years. A 'patchwork' job would actually end up being more costly/less economical. Just my point of view

The 2 A332's with skybeds will be refurbished (EBG and EBL)

Qantas has announced today that the A380 will go under a major refurbishment program

Included in the upgrade

Current business class skybeds replaced by Qantas business class suites as seen in A330's and upcoming 787's
Installing the new premium economy class product as installed in upcoming 787's
Reconfiguring front of upper deck to redesign passenger lounge for first and business class passengers
Refurbishing first class which will remain on the lower deck
Updating economy with new seat cushions and improved in flight entertainment

First A380 to begin upgrade in Q2 of 2019

Overall configuration will see more premium seating added and economy seating reduced, an overall increase of premium seating by 20%

First class 14 (remains unchanged)
Business class 70 (up by 6)
Premium economy 60 (up by 25)
Economy 341 (down by 30)

Total 485 (up by 1)
