Why MRJ-90STD and ERJ-190STD?

Why did Mitsubishi name their latest aircraft MRJ-90STD while we already have the ERJ-190STD?

It doesn't sound very original to me. What does STD stand for in this case?

Maybe STD means Standard Range or STD seating capacity (90?) or STD Engine power range? There's a Lot they could imply as STD. Including Price.

The STD means Standard range I believe and the 90 refers to the amount of seats

STD is standard. 90 is the number of seats that it can either carry to capacity, or in a regular layout as designated by the manufacturer.

They need to think of a new acronym for "standard." Most people think of negative and embarrassing illnesses when they hear "STD."
