There are a couple more of the same? flight-- one has a "Mercury" sign on the stairs, which I guess narrows it down. Is that a wind tee atop the hangar?

If I had to guess, I'd say Cincinnati in the late 50's.

Mercury was the name of a special red-carpet service provided by AA initially between New York City and Los Angeles and you can see the red carpet if you look closely. The service was then expanded to several other cities. One of the cities served was Cincinnati and the picture is tagged with the location being Ohio. I'm not sure if the location is of where the photo was taken or where the person who uploaded it in 2010 was located.

I think it's CLE. The buff building in the background looks like the old tank plant, before it became the IX Center.

Brilliant photos! Thanks for posting. Would appreciate seeing more showing other types of aircraft from around the same era. A real journey down memory lane. Liked looking at the cars and other ramp vehicles and the way people dressed to travel back then. There would certainly not have been the United leggings saga in those days!!

How different it was without jetways and pushback type operations that we have today. Airline liveries have also come a long way since then.

After looking at this photo, I'd say the buff buildings are defitnitely the former tank plant - now the IX Center, It's CLE for sure, probably a CLE-LAX flight..

The CLE-LAX nonstop that started in 1957 or 1958 was a DC-7 with coach and First Class. Wonder if everyone boarded at the same door. (And yes, in Aug 1958 it was Mercury.)

I was wrong-- when the CLE-LAX nonstop started in mid-1957 it was all First. Still was in the 1/58 OAG, then in the 2/58 it was First and coach. Didn't check-- maybe AA had no First-and-coach flights until then.
