Are 200-207 or 935-942 being returned to the lessor?

Es and Ws leave first. Then Hs medium term. Ls last to go, long term.

N942UW just retired and it was a 75H. I think they were going to have the 75Es retire before the 75Hs, then switched it around.

Also, no more 75Ws with the old brown F seats - N182AN was the last one.

I remember those very well, they date from the 80s ! Four years ago was when I last flew on a 757 with the F Class old brown leather seats, from MIA to JFK. It is interesting that only the 757 kept those brown leather seats up until now. Most other aircrafts in the fleet had newer F Class seats a long time ago already. Late 90s/early 2000s was when most planes at American, except the 757, received new F Class seats in lieu of brown leather seats. I believe that the Fokker 100 also kept its brown leather seats in the F Class cabin until its retirement in 2004.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't there still a few Republic and Air Wisconsin birds left in USX paint?

I believe there are 2 CRJs still in US colors (can't remember the regs). All of the L-US E175s have been repainted.

Any 757s left with Recaro NGBC seats?

N679AN and N181AN are the last 75Ws and the last 757s in the old livery. Timetable shows them scheduled for JFK-LAS next month.

Should we be seeing a significant retirement of MD-80s, sometime soon? I read that the plan was to be down to 32 by the end of the 3rd quarter (end of this week), so they're still about 15 above that number.

According to the most recent investor update, the plan is to be down to 43 by the end of this quarter and then down to 42 at year end.

A plane to avoid when flying AA. 30' pitch in Y, 172 pax vs 160 in the 737-800, and no IFE. Not much of an upgrade for the people riding in one of these.

My gosh! A handful of 738s, 1x 752 and the remaining MD80s are all that's left of the clAAsic livery! After almost 50 years!

Not bad! A few CRJ-200s and the majority of the E140s still have the old Eagle livery, but that's pretty much it! :O

DH8-1 N940HA is en route from SBY to GTF for its new owner; Avmax. N937HA, N942HA and N943HA should be headed there as well. Avmax has taken delivery of the second batch of six aircraft, which were ferried out of ROW to GTF, of a twenty-seven Dash 8-100 aircraft purchase deal from Piedmont Airlines, Inc., subsidiary to American Airlines, Inc. with delivery stream through the first quarter of 2018.

Hmmm I'm looking at the fr24 live feed on my phone and it's showing 940 at 20,000 ft over Baker, Montana. It was scheduled for the 30th though. 924 looks like it was filed three times for today but is still sitting in SBY. Looks like the remainder of the DH8As will be headed to GTF.

Actually, N369AA was retired on October 3rd. Currently decommissioning in TUL. After this one, there is 2 left for 2017 (N373AA & N383AN). Which will then leave a fleet of 24x at 31-Dec-2017. Another 6x are expected to be retired in 2018.

I wish they would slow down on the 767 and 757 retirements and speed up on the MD-80s. The MD-80 retirement schedule seems to change almost monthly.

I think only four extra MD-80s are sticking around into 2018 that weren't planned. The 767s were always going to speed up in Q4. I do believe they sped up the 757s beyond what was planned though. I can't seem to find my saved copy of the original fleet plan from the beginning of the year.

the original plan was to retire 25 s80 this year, over the summer they decided to only remove 15. The 757 schedule did not change, as they still plan to have 34 in service at the end of the year (-17).

There is no point to speed up the Super 80 retirements. Remember the last batch from TWA are from 1999 and newer than some 738's

People just need to realize that seat back IFE is going away. There is zero financial incentive to lug all that extra weight around when people can stream via their devices which most people already have with them anyway. Seat back IFE is labor intensive and there is no guarantee for a passenger to know ahead of time if their particular seat will have a functioning system or not. Using your own devices eliminates this uncertainty. Don't have a device? Either join the 21st century or bring a book like people did before the advent of seatback IFE.

I would say the focus should be more on the 30' pitch in Y than the IFE. No matter how you look at what AA is doing it is not good for the pax. They are winning in the race to the bottom of the big 3. And do not forget a large chunk of the fleet has no power in the seats for those who do not charge the device.

I'm 6'2" with long legs and 30 inch pitch is a nonstarter for me. I'd say to avoid the 738's and shoot for A32X's when I can, but I hear
they're heading down the same road,

Looks like Southwest or Alaska will be by carriers of choice , at least I have enough legroom

Looks like 935-942 are the 757s leaving the fleet. Why do AA aircraft have a nose number that often differs from the registration?

I'm 6'2" with long legs and 30 inch pitch is a nonstarter for me. I'd say to avoid the 738's and shoot for A32X's when I can, but I hear
they're heading down the same road,

Looks like Southwest or Alaska will be by carriers of choice , at least I have enough legroom

Definitely find the A32X to be more comfortable than the 738s, but they are going to end up getting more seats as well. At least they will still have more seat width by a little bit.

No guarantee WN and AS aren't going down the same road.

A plane to avoid when flying AA. 30' pitch in Y, 172 pax vs 160 in the 737-800, and no IFE. Not much of an upgrade for the people riding in one of these.

From what I was reading I believe as the interiors are overhauled over time to remove the seatback monitors and IFE boxes they were going to be installing power ports to each seat as well. Does this mean the 738s are going to get new seats? I imagine if they were going to roll out new seats then the MAX would be the first to have it. Does the new AA 738MAXs have different seats than the standard 738NG already in the fleet?

LUS planes have all gotten new seat covers, no power. It looks good when you walk into the aircraft but when you sit down you realize that it is the same old seat with a new cover and no power.

I had that on a 321 out of Miami. disappointing that there wasn’t power, but the legroom on L-US a/c in Y is impressively compared to today’s 319s.

That being said, next month will be my first flight betweenness DFW and RIC not on a Mad Dog. Shame as that was the final route I travel on with MD-80s.
