Ok, first photo of N905NN AstroJet by Chris Pena does look like retro livery over haze gray if you compare the fuselage to the tail. "Haze gray and underway."

772 reconfigurations are winding down, I believe only 2 more are to get reconfigured before the fleet is complete.

7AX ferried to HKG today.
http://flightaware.com/live/flight/AAL9679

7BC and 7BT should be the last 2 remaining to be reconfigured.

Is that for the B/E J seat? I believe they are just starting the next round for PE installation now too.

A Couple 32Xs and a 332 would be nice...but considering they have alll been painted within the past few years, I doubt we'll see any L-US OW aircraft for a good while.

Only one 767 have the the old LAA painting, but seven have the old seat configuration 30/188. By the 4Q all this seven planes will be retire.
In the 3Q, the plan is to retire 12 757, and all are ex US Air planes. The only four Ex US Air planes that will be in the fleet by the end of the year are the four that came from American Trans Air.

I was thinking more along the lines of new-build A321s, as these are the ones we get in Trinidad, not any US birds...one can hope!

There will be 10 LUS 752s and 24 LAA 752s retained. The remaining fleets are to be retired.

This merger update seems to indicate that all the regionals that are going to be painted have been painted, including the Republic E75s.

Curious as to what will become of the E140s that are to be reactivated later this year in terms of paint. Only one E140, N856AE, has been painted in the new livery.

I think the interpretation there is that the E140s are temporary lift and as such don't count towards the numbers. I suspect if the 140s end up with a more permanent home with Piedmont down the road, then you would see them get painted.

I'll believe it when I see it. Two deferrals in just a few months for the A350, with very little enthusiasm at corporate.

But if it does happen, AA will join AF, AV, BA, QR, EY, JL, UA, SQ, ET, LATAM, etc. as the "very few" airlines that does or will operate the two types :)

Agreed. It's certainly possible that AA will end up operating both the 787 and A350, but at this point, it's hard to imagine that making financial sense long-term given how similar the capabilities and economics of both airplanes are. For the benefit of both cost efficiency and operational flexibility, it seems like the far better approach would be to just keep exercising options for more 787s, and work a deal with Airbus to parlay the A350 orders into something else - like, say, A321LRs.

100% agree. AA has 787 options, they should just invest in additional -9s, maybe even the -10 to replace the 777-200ERs and A330-300s.

The A321 has been a miracle worker for AA, replacing a domestic 757 perfectly. Adding the A321LR seems almost logical, given the vast size of our fleet. Swapping the A350s may be the way to go.

Time will tell, but for now, I don't see us picking up the A350.

I did see that aircraft depart DFW.

The climb out was steep and powerful! Such a beauty of a plane, the 757! :cry2:

That would be correct. Not the mass 21 plane retirement in one day, but quit a few.

ORD will be 767 and 777 free on international routes next year. Just a few daily from DFW/MIA for Deep South America planes that would otherwise sit on the ground all day.
