airBaltic, how long until all Bombardier fleet?

Fri Feb 17, 2017 1:52 am

Considering airBaltic is replacing its aging Boeing 737 Classic fleet with a Bombardier BD-500-1A11 one and that they are keeping their Bombardier Q400NGs, I was wondering when the last 737 will leave the airBaltic fleet and that airBaltic will become an all Bombardier equiped airline?

 why not just call it the CS300 instead of BD-500-1A11?
2020 is the date mentioned in articles over the web.

Because the BD-500-1A11 is its name?

In both English and French, BBS calls it the CS300..
Maybe that was some internal name they stopped using?

CS300 is it's name. BD-500-1A11 is its model number. How often does someone refer to the CRJ200 AS CL600-2B19?

At least the RJ name makes some sense. Derived from the Challenger 600, aka CL600. BD-500-1A11.. I guess BD stands for Bombardier? There doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to the naming of the Cseries.

BD is also used for BD100 (Challenger 300/350) and BD700 for the Globals
