There has been obvious success at LAS with both BA and VA, so let's hope it can spread to EI as well. Ethiopian dropped a 787 into Vegas today on a LAX diversion, so we look forward to the green planes from Ireland too!

Wow! 2017 is going crazy with all the new routes, and it's only the 2nd day of February!

Congrats to EI and LAS! I'm waiting for when EI sends some green to Texas!

Congrats to Aer Lingus & LAS! I wonder what North American cities they will add next? YVR, SEA, SAN, PHX, TPA, DFW and MSY sound like good candidates for their A330.

As far as I know, Willie Walsh was making some noises in the press either this year or last about adding SAN down the line.

The article says "We are working to build a business case to operate a seasonal service to LAS...."
So some way away from a confirmed route?

Yes it sounds like that. I opened this thread hoping for a start date and schedule but...

If this comes to fruition, it contributes to the what appears to be astounding growth in international traffic to LAS.

Hainan started PEK-LAS two months ago. Condor will add MUC-LAS this summer, and Eurowings will add CGN-LAS. Next January, QR will introduce nonstop flights from DOH 4x weekly.

As noted in the article Aer Lingus is starting service to MIA in September. You can go and buy a ticket on the flight at Aerlingus.com today. That is a bit more firm than "working to build a business case" for LAS.

He probally need permission off the real boss ;)

They have 3-4 months to announce it for next winter so I suspect it will happen, it's very rare for him to come out so strong about a planned route.
