No, the 7 slated for retirement are independent of the 13 shown as unmodded.

I sure it keeps it. AFAIK all of the 737s w/ the SkyTeam livery that have gone through their mods have kept them. Looks like it was painted into the ST colors in early 2011 (first a.net picture of it was Feb 18, 2011). If it's due for paint and it's just adding a coat/touching it up there's no way they would have to repaint the whole aircraft (to change it to the regular livery) if they don't have to (waste that much money).

The next A320 to enter mods, N343NW, is currently en route from MSP>SAL.

I was on 669 today (last change of equipment from 668). It was not refurbished. I don't know how long these take, but doesn't an exit on 2/1 seem unlikely? Doesn't seem to have entered yet -- they've been using it every day.

Looks like it's been back in service for a few days. Must have been a maintenance visit. Mods usually take around 6 weeks.

Sorry I'm a few days late with this. Travel + getting sick = I got nothing done the last couple of days.

On the A319s, looks like everything started in Q4 has gone to MSP, except for a couple to SAL and ATL.

I haven't seen a firm date for mods yet but I believe the goal is to start mods after the summer season. Should be enough 350 capacity and 777 slack to be able to start the mods. Will be the new C seat and new PE seat. Not sure if Y will get a new seat or if 3-4-3 is happening. The company was at least looking at it, but I haven't heard the results of that study.

Also FWIW the company was looking at adding the pivot bins to the 757s that don't have them, 738 and 73W fleets. Haven't heard what is going on with that either. Also heard MD90 AVOD was being looked at again. Makes sense to add it with the 320 fleet getting AVOD. Would make the 738/320/M90 pretty much interchangeable.

I read up on one of the pilot's weekly memos and the chief pilot mentioned there are EIS delays with the A350, and that's why they have been slow to put out an AE for the type just yet. Hopefully that doesn't push back 777 refurb.

I think there is only a slight delay at this point. Should still have all 7 by the end of the year (plus two more 330s).
I just hope they do the mods in-house. (I know, won't happen and if it does it will be 95% contractors, but a man can dream right?)

The two 333s are arriving before the S17 schedule starts, right? The currently planned schedule requires 30 frames and I'd think there would be at least one spare...

#9 is doing test flights now and is a February delivery IIRC. #10 i believe is an April delivery.

737-8 will be 16/144, 320 will be 16/141, M90 will be 16/142. Not sure if it is widely known but the MD90s will be getting 2 Y seats removed to expand galley/working space for flight attendants, similar to why they are removing 3 Y seats from the modified 320s.

This may have been discussed before, but was on N313DN (a rather new A321, circa 2 months since delivery) this morning and the lead FA apologized because the WiFi wouldn't be available because it hadn't been activated yet because the plane was so new. Seems like DL would do that kind of thing before the aircraft entered service. Didn't affect my experience because I wasn't planing on using it on such a short flight (MCO-ATL), but still found it rather odd.

That's very strange as this aircraft entered revenue service on Nov 28th 21016. I doubt if the WiFi had never been activated as the FA said!

I would've thought so as well. Perhaps there was an issue with it on that specific aircraft already? I assume the WiFi function is fairly automatic and doesn't require much FA interaction.. so I didn't want to chalk it up to a lazy crew.

The A321s are flying almost exclusively short routes less than two hours from the ATL hub. Perhaps Delta is giving priority with Wi-Fi upgrades and maintenance to the fleets that are flying longer flights?

Flew on two 75Ds over the weekend and both of them had perfect WiFi.

Do we have any way to track the RJ fleet refresh? Compass tweeted that it has started refurbishing its E175s with new seat coverings, LED lighting, and power in F/Y+

Does anyone think that Delta will pull more 757's out of the desert. If the LOV is 75K cycles 150,00 hrs why not spend the money on heavy maintenance and keep them flying. It's cheaper than a new A321 or a 737-900 plus the cost of the tail stand (lol).
Or could Delta find low time/ cycle aircraft from other carriers. Could Delta operate 757-200 with Rolls Royce engines. There aren't to many PW powered aircraft available.

to the first question probably not. Most of the other 752s left have had a lot of parts pulled from them and/or would need a HMV5 (or whatever its called now). The 5th overhaul of a 757 basically makes it uneconomical. HMV4, which is what most of these would need (or HMV3 then HMV4) isn't nearly as costly.

Second question, not a chance. highly unlikely DL could fine enough Rollers powered birds to make the fleet worth while. Maybe if say, United wanted to dump all of its exCO 757s but outside of a large amount of young frames I can't see it. Now if more end of the line PW2000 birds show up, I expect DL would pay a pretty penny for them.

I think literally the only late-build P&W 757s that are still in passenger configuration that Delta doesn't already have are the last five sUA birds. Basically all of the little guys who have late 757s have RR.

If Delta needs any more airframes this size I'd expect them to be heavily, heavily, heavily discounted 737-900ERs. A321s are a possibility too if the engine makers have trouble ramping the neo engines.
