I'm seeing:

888 SFOPEK 1100 1440
889 PEKSFO 1200 0900

I'm looking ahead to 11/16/2017.

888 SFOPEK 1040 1530
889 PEKSFO 1725 1305
This is my signature until I think of a better one.

All 14 77Ws are now officially delivered. Three are still waiting at PAE for their turn for induction at SEA. Last one 44U still getting Polaris-ed. Next four come next year. Rumor continues to expect an additional four at some point. :scratchchin:

That's pretty amazing that Boeing can churn out aircraft the size of the 77W faster than Zodiac can outfit them and United can induct them. It seems like they only just put the first one into service and they're already taking the last one of this batch.

Something like a 3 or 4 month delay for unit #8. I can't imagine the conversation about such delays.

I guess no room/capacity in SFO to induct the units. With the less than a week inductions, all should be ready in July I'd guess.

The 5 789's + these 4 77W's is a lot of capacity to add from Aug 2017-2018. If they top up 4 more, we'd expect them in 2019? When does the 777W line switch over?

Either way, UA must have some pretty good growth plans for 2018 planned with that type of capacity increase.

Actually the repainting of sUAL aircraft started in May '17. sUAL A-319s, 777s have already started. The sUAL fleet is scheduled.

Well, remember, about 10 747s will exit in Nov '17, and between now and then, a 747 or 2 exit each month.

The first 77W, N2331U, entered revenue service on March 3rd, so exactly four months ago to the day!

I guess I was hoping for more on N660UA since it arrived in HKG 5/12/17.
Anything in the interior but Polaris wouldn't make sense.
Does this sole 3 class 763ER need to have an STC for the winglet mod?
N641UA was in HKG March-May 2017, anyone know if it has winglets??

I can certainly see all 77Ws delivered on paper by the end of the month, but unless more induction slots open up somewhere I also see at least two or three spending the 4th of July at PAE.

Not much info on the A-320s, but does look like 2 mightl join the Fleet this fall.

Yup, it is a 'Projectied Date' on the 777-322ERs. But they are scheduled one after another for Fleet entry.

Yep, Three delivered still at PAE... No real rush as not really needed just yet anyway.
On the A320 matter, if two more are added both N450UA and N499UA regs show not available on FAA site. So some other such as N4301U, 4302U perhaps.

According to NYC777, UA will get two 787-10's next year at minimum. One in August (new) and one in December (test unit). Production slots in Sep/Oct/Nov/Dec not identified so there could be more in 2018.

With these units + 4x 77W's + 3x 789's, that's a lot of new capacity for 2018. Looking forward to the expansion routes.

Expansion is always interesting but UA's recent focus on Int'l expansion has allowed them to fall farther and farther behind in the overall domestic market.

SFO and EWR aren't getting any less crowded and ORD or LAX aren't going to have any substantial number of additional gates anytime soon. I'm hoping for more widebodies to be brought back into the domestic system to meet existing or future demand without clogging up the airspace/airports with more and more high frequency narrowbody ops.

How is UA "easily" able to obtain new departure slot in PEK? Wasn't it not to long ago that AA kept delaying their startup of LAX-PEK because of a lack of decent slots.

On the other hand, with the routes that has been announce, how is the utilization of the 77W fleet? Any slack in the fleet to possibility squeeze in one more international route rotation?

1) UA is moving a flight (so are releasing slots at another time)
2) PEK is also Air China's hub, and UA is probably getting some help from their Star Alliance partner.

It took awhile for UA to get slots at PVG for their second SFO flight because those two points didn't apply.

That's pretty much what happened with the 10 'A-market' 777-222s which were recently converted from 3-cabin international configurations to 77G domestic people movers. They've largely been deployed on busy domestic routes and between the mainland and Hawaii.

By November there will be 8 routes operating with the 77W.

EWR-TLV

SFO-FRA
SFO-HKG
SFO-LHR
SFO-PEK
SFO-SYD

I know they have had a few 767s go in for the Polaris seats. Don't know how long the whole fleet will take though. Probably a while.

The question that I have been asking but nobody seems to know, and we may not know until a 767 goes back into service is, aside from the seat, will UA be installing all the really nice new bulkheads and entry way walls that are back-lit? Or, will they stay in that boring blue and just get new seats?

Needless to say what I think they should do!

I really hope so and I am optimistic that it will happen. Not sure if you have flown on any of the new airbuses from China, but they have the new bulkheads and cabin logos. It looks really nice. I figure if the new airbuses got them then the rest of the fleet should follow.

So now that United has flown quite a good number of people on their new 77W's in Polaris internationally, have there been consumer reviews of the experience? I realize they still need more time, but initial reports should be in by now, either in publications or on social media.

The line I want to read somewhere would be: "I hated United but, I had to fly them from XXX to XXX and I must admit they did a great job on my last flight and the new Polaris makes a huge difference" or is it going to be: "all that pomp around Polaris and all it was was a minor upgrade from before, nothing to indicate a major turn around" I would be disappointed to read that, but as I am in the branding business...I like to see the impact of huge investments paying off.

Not sure how many "consumers" are willingly posting specifically about their experiences on Polaris, but the professional travel and points bloggers have long since weighed in. Lots of reviews on FlyerTalk too. The general consensus seems to be that the J seat is good and better than any of UA's old seats, but perhaps not quite as good as the reverse herringbone seats on many other carries. Most people are saying that Y is very tight and that the 77W is only worth trying to fly if you end up in J. A lot of people are also wishing UA would finally get with the program and launch a true W product in addition to E+.

Huh, any chance this was an Express flight? If so, that could explain the conflation of the brand for UA's Y+ (Economy Plus) and DL's Y+ brand (Comfort+). Crew on some Express operators like OO, EV, and YX can and do work under both UAX and DL Connection banners.

They might have already done it. I flew out of IAH tonight and the FA made the announcement that if anyone would like to move up to "Economy Comfort Plus" they could see the agent. HUH? Economy Comfort Plus???? Now they're just making things up.

Huh, any chance this was an Express flight?

A320 IAH-OMA

Perhaps they just thought they were really "selling it"

How strange. On another note, I would certainly welcome changes if UA made E+ resemble DL's C+ more. It is not a true W product by any means, but the priority boarding, extra drink and snacks, and additional miles depending on mileage program really make C+ a noticeably better product than E+. It's also priced much more reasonably in my experience. Also, since I no longer have UA status, when I pay for E+ and sit in the window, I board in group 3, meaning that I more often than not have to force out the middle and aisle seat people who boarded in groups 1 or 2. It's much better on DL when the entire C+ cabin pretty much boards all at once in the Sky boarding zone.

Anyone know what the config will be for the Polaris 763s? I wonder how many seats they can fit per row.

Some of the 757-222s are scheduled for Paint in 2019. And some of them will be getting NGS late 2018.

Seat count stays the same as the two class version. Still 30 up front.

I assume the 767 will get the single center row in Polaris, and now that it's ALL all-aisle-access if that seat will be as coveted?

I would think with the staggered 1-2-1 on the 777 where they used to have 8 of the IPTE seats, the 767 would have staggered 1-1-1 to replace the 6 IPTE. So I don't think it will be the single center seat in the same way it was of the sCO J seats.

Bummer. I fly that route a lot. The outbound is only 30 minutes earlier, but the return wastes a 1/2 day on the PEK side, and makes my domestic connection at SFO crap. Stretches a 2.5 hour layover (which covers immigration and a shower nicely) to 6 hours.
