Since Doha-Khartoum is one of the routes that got most impacted by the GCC internal issues ( flight time increased from 2 hours to 5 hours), it makes sense that a lot of travelling are simply switching to EK now.

Looks like the 787 vs A350 has been finalised. Awaiting official confirmation now. The 787-9 and 787-10 have been selected by EK order.

Analyst: Emirates' long-awaited Dreamliner order a 'done deal'

Emirates Airlines is getting closer to announcing a big order for Boeing Co.'s 787 Dreamliner as the carrier teams up with low-cost partner FlyDubai to expand regional service, according to an analyst's report Monday.

"Detailed intelligence states that the 787 will be Emirates' smaller wide-body airplane choice," Saj Ahmad said on his Strategic Aero Research website. "Snaring Emirates is a massive coup for Boeing — something we've predicted for over three years now."

A spokesman for Emirates, which is based in Dubai, could not be reached for comment.

Not so fast, the original source for that is pretty dubious. See: Rumor: Emirates to select the B787-9 and B787-10

once he or she does that, then this will be news in my opinion. Until then, we shouldn't make much out of this source.

Even though 787 seems like the likely winner here, we still have to wait until Dubai show to get a final confirmation, if not later. I just wonder what happened to the issue addressed by Tim Clark that he had some doubts if 787-10 would be able to take off in the summer days. It's interesting IMO.

It's scary how this Emirates 787 order story is spreading through the press. The first time the original source for this "news" made the same claims Emirates reacted a couple of weeks later by saying that the 787-10 would have issues in the hot climate of Dubai. I wonder if they will now do something similar?

I'd be surprised if EK would let them into MRU. Rumour has it (and of course we have no idea if this is true) that QR where knocked back by the authorities at MRU under pressure from EK, when they tried to get some slots there.

Really? I thought EK were only cleared for 14 flights a week. Having a quick look on the EK website it only shows up with 2 flights on Sunday.

Maybe the JED route is for the Hajj? I know MK do a run of charter flights to JED during the event.

Etihad Airways confirms it is ending service to San Francisco; route averaged 79% load factor in 2016; Qatar Airways’ entry the final straw?

Seems like theres is definitely some impact of AI's DEL-SFO flight into EY stopping SFO(?)

If it's daily then the capacity has been reduced to 770 seats per week and the overall reduction would be 265 seats which I suppose isn't that much.
To clear it up then, QR will operate a daily A319 to Krabi from the 1st of December this year.
EDIT: Found out the source of this mixup... Routesonline has said the following

Qatar Airways during the month of September 2017 is adjusting operational aircraft for Doha – Krabi route, as the airline schedules 110-seater Airbus A319 aircraft, instead of A330-200/Boeing 787. This route is served 3 times a week, instead of 4 (since June 2017)

So starting from 1 Dec this will be served with a daily flight.

I guess that makes sense .. The distance between Phuket and krabi is so tiny, I still think that Krabi is only cannibalizing their loads on Phuket route
