Etihad Repaint Update

Hi together,

I was wondering how Etihad was progressing with their Repainting Work, especially as they announced a while back, they'd be finished by the end of 2017.
My biggest wish still would be to see the A340's getting repainted, although this seems unlikely, still, I'm keeping my fingers crossed

They're sure taking their sweet time repainting their fleet.
But, as complex as the new livery is, I'm sure each plane
would be OTS longer than normal. perhaps the current
fleet gets re-painted during their heavy checks?

Plan was to have the entire fleet repainted by the end of 2017. They still have some time. And some aircraft like the A340 will probably not be repainted.

Just for info, A6-EII is currently in partial FlyNas (XY) colours due to a wetlease.

Etihad has extended the planned utilasation for their A340's till 2020 ? Do you have a source ?

BTW why are they still keeping A6-EIZ ? Its 24 years and it should be retired soon, shouldn't it ? Givent its probably THE oddball in EY fleet. Only A32X older than 14 years and only one with CFM engine. And this one already got repainted in the new colors!

You can add the A6-EYK (332) to the repainted list, spotted it at AMS in its new livery on July the 17th.

It would appear that EY are pretty short of airframes at the moment - EDI usually operated by an A332 has been operated by an A333 twice and an A346 once in the last week or so.

Is it down to repainting?

A6-EIZ was re-modified, new engines, new cabin and connectivity. VIP config however it has a few seats less than the other A320's. Mostly flyins MCT and DMM only

I contacted Etihad and they replied that the entire fleet will have the new livery by the end of 2017.

EIZ is also a bit of a pain when operating due to the lower hold weight maximums, when compared to the rest of the fleet.

A319's will stay longer, the A340's will also stay longer. As mentioned before everything points out to 2020. A350's delivery dates not yet confirmed but they will replace the A340's first.

Told recently that most of our 777's will be repainted when maintenance comes round. There's no chance they'll all be done by the end of the year, 2 777's go in for maintenance next week, and the next after that aren't due until the new year.

The 340's are slowly being phased out EHA has now gone to Italian Airforce, EHB was stored at Al Ain for a few weeks, has recently come back into service, EHC is being used mainly as cover, it was parked on the south ramps last I saw it, EHD is doing a fair emoun tod flying in Europe. The 600's still getting plenty use, Europe and Asia mainly.

You should not expect the A340-600s, -500s and A330-300s to be painted.

The A340s will be gone by year's end.
A friend has been told by an A330-300 pilot not to expect them to be repainted.
But it was obvious anyway they were going to leave as soon as they had enough 787s. They have almost the exact same number of seats. The 3-class 787s.

I thought all 747F had left the fleet.

With the money they have I would have expedited one A345, A346 and A333 each in new paint.

I meant when they got the new livery, around that time or somewhere in between.

There's a whisper on another forum that some A330's might be headed to MH towards the end of the year on lease.

I'm pretty sure A332's were mentioned.

It seems Etihad has put the repaint on hold ... No changes since at least May - only retirements and deliveries, but no repaint

Sorry to be picky but I think it’s 13/23 on A320 done (only 10 in old livery). Only a counting error though.

According to airlineroutes on Twitter, Etihad no longers operates the A319.

True, the A319s are stored in Abu Dhabi at the Moment, and yes, there are 13 A320s repainted, sorry.

What I find fascinating ist A6-EIZ,
which is still flying....
