Who or What is Leading Airliners.net?

Mon Apr 02, 2018 3:39 pm

Who is in charge of Airliners.net at the moment? Is there a single person that has final authority regarding the content, direction, and everyday "goings-on" of this site? Is there a person who is responsible for several websites (accounts) and Airliners.net in just one site they are responsible for in managing? Or is this site run by a committee of people?

Who or what entity has the final authority of leading this site?

The site is owned by VerticalScope who also provide support to the crew to ensure the site runs as it should do.

The day to day running of the site is predominantly left up to the crew in their respective areas be it moderators, support, screeners, database editors.

As moderators our first role is to respond to reported posts and approve posts of new users. Additionally behind the scenes we respond to email enquiries from users along with discussing issues with the other moderators as they arise

"VerticalScope is an integrated multi-platform media company. Our social networks and websites are vertically integrated roll-ups in high-consumer spending verticals."

That's some top class MBA speak right there. Makes you want to puke.

They buy sites and then market to the user-base. Because they own hundreds of niche forums they can leverage their large user-base to get lucrative adverting contracts they then push on the members. There's no mention of this site on their company website. We're not going to see any further development of the site.

Hello

As noted the site is owned by VerticalScope and there is a whole team of people working on the site from their end with the point man being Jeff the General Manager, there is also Matt our developer and between them they work daily on the site though Jeff has other sites he is responsible for. I also help out on a daily basis and the crew are there as explained by QF789. Most of the work is backend work which keeps the site stable and running on a daily basis and there are plans for new features which will be introduced in the future.

Regards

Paul
