Missing photo albums

Dear Mods,

Apologies if this topic has been discussed prior. I did do a search with no results.

I have noticed that a number of my photo albums have disappeared. Is there anyway that they may be recovered?

You have 56 albums as far as I can see, do you have an example of a missing album or two that I can forward to devs? Send it to support (at) airliners.net

Thanks for the reply.

I just checked my albums on my profile page and it appears that they are all there (56 in total).

Thus, the albums are "missing" from the drop down menu when I try to add photos. Apologies for this mix-up, I really should have checked my profile page earlier :shy:

I count 50 albums on the drop down menu. Five of the albums that do not appear on the drop down menu are;

1) VORTICES, DOWNWASH, CONDENSATION, SLATS, FLAPS, WINGLETS & VORTEX GENERATORS
2) NIGHT-TIME; THE MYSTERY & MAGIC OF DARKNESS!
3) TURBOPROPS; LOOK OUT, HERE COMES A BUG-SMASHER!
4) WORM EYE VIEW
5) SUNRISE, SUNSETS & PLAIN BEAUTIFUL SKY!

Ok, I will forward it to the devs, but looking at that exact figure I suspect they have a cap on 50 albums.

I think it'd be easiest if I delete a few albums to which I add photos once in a blue moon!

Got a response from the devs, there was a cap of 50 albums. A change has been implemented and will roll out in the next small update.

I have a follow-up question pertaining to the photo albums.

I have noticed that several of the photos I have added to my (main) album (before the site update) have disappeared from said album. why? I added the photos in chronological order and I noticed that at least one is missing from 2013. I've also noticed several photos missing that were added after the update. I'd hate to have to totally remove the album and rebuild it.

can anything be done?

Just to throw it out there, it could be that the photographer has requested that the photos were deleted from the site. Unless they still show up in a search of course.

Photos I added to my album between about the second week of January 2018 and beginning of March disappeared, but could not be re-added since the site thought they were still in the album. Others detailed the same issue here: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1356351 I have since deleted that album and tried to recreate it from scratch, one photo at a time. Still very sad that we can no longer delete photos from albums or rearrange their order.

After further review, it appears that many of my photos are not showing all of the photo albums that contain it (at the bottom of the photo page). I have been keeping meticulous track (at least before the site revamp) of my photos and I have put every single one into a single album as they were accepted. For example, if you do a search of my name and "N663US", you will see 4 albums at the bottom of the page. None of which is "My Photos", the album it should be in.
