Long screening delays
No doubt most photographers have notices that the screening backlog is stuck at more or less 15 days. Apart from unwanted reminder from Kodachrome era when this was the normal period to get your slides returned from the lab, I experience this as a break in continuity. Gone are the days when there was an average of 1000 submissions a day. Now about half that. Whereas the screening backlog has doubled in time. Is this going to improve?

It will improve, yes. As most of the screening team is based on the northern hemisphere, you can expect these months to be the most problematic ones due to vacations and absences. There are also a number of screeners in training that aren't yet up to speed and that consume some time from the regular screeners. All this should pay off later, of course.
